Season 20 of The Real Housewives of Orange County has been largely panned, yet viewers are holding on, hoping it will get better. Although much of the frustration has been aimed at Vicki Gunvalson, it has since shifted. Fans are demanding that Gina Kirschenheiter be fired and are calling for a controversial RHOC OG to return. Gina Kirschenheiter Has Lost Fans Over The Years
When Gina Kirschenheiter joined RHOC in Season 13 alongside Emily Simpson, she was somewhat of a question mark. She was younger, from Long Island, had three children, and was married, but her husband was away working. It was suspicious, and she was clearly struggling as a single parent, but she tried to make it work. Over time, she filed for divorce and revealed that her husband had cheated on her. He was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence, and they finally divorced. At the same time, she was arrested for a DUI.
That became a long-running story thanks to Shannon Beador helping her get a lawyer. Gina has since gotten her life together, is engaged, and found success in real estate. However, she does not have much of a storyline unless she’s creating drama. Therefore, fans are now demanding she be let go:
- I can’t stand her. I am on Season 16–she’s so smug and always thinks she’s in the right and is very mean-spirited.
- Right!? She is one of the most boring people in the entire franchise to me. She needs to go!
- RHOC went down hill once her and Emily joined. They are both not fun to watch in my opinion.
After this was stated, one fan noted that they would gladly trade Gina Kirschenheiter for a very controversial “OG”:
- Yeah she isn’t bringing anything to the table. Kelly Dodd is more interesting.
- You never knew what to expect with Kelly and that’s exactly what I loved about her being on the show! She really kept me on the edge of my seat all the time with her unpredictable behavior! I’d take her over any one of them any day!
Kelly For The Win
When Kelly Dodd was let go from RHOC after Season 15, she was livid. She believed that it was politically driven and has since been on a rampage against Bravo and Andy Cohen. However, viewers appeared to love her antics and somehow miss the controversy that she brought with her:
- Kelly made me laugh with all of the sh!t talking she did. She is absolutely chaotic and unpredictable. Her family life is nothing, but drama. I don’t align with her political views or condone her racist comment, but how many housewives have made similar comments and remained on air. Kelly Dodd makes good reality TV.
It is doubtful that she would ever be asked back or accept the invitation. As for Gina Kirschenheiter, she has evolved a lot since she began, finding love and a career. That has to be respected, but maybe not enough for the show.
