Ryan Seacrest is a well-known TV personality. He’s hosted countless shows and appeared on television too many times to count. However, practice doesn’t always make perfect. In fact, there are some things Wheel of Fortune fans want to change about the host.
Ryan Seacrest On Wheel of Fortune
As most fans probably know, Wheel of Fortune has been on for literal decades. The show first aired in 1975. Because of that, it’s seen a few different hosts. First was Merv Griffin, followed by Pat Sajak. Pat is probably the most well-known host of the show. He was the star from 1983 to 2023. So, he had a very long run. Because of this, he acquired a very large fanbase because it’s what everyone was used to. Not to mention, he was good at his job.
However, all good things must come to an end. Pat made the decision to retire, so the network had to replace the iconic host. That’s where Ryan Seacrest came in. Ryan has been on TV, especially hosting, for years. So, being on a game show seemed like the perfect next step. He’s been the host officially since 2024.
Despite his experience, though, it seems he will never top Pat in fans’ eyes. They’ve taken to the internet to discuss their issues with the host of the show.
Fans Have Complaints
According to TV Insider, fans definitely have some complaints when it comes to Ryan as a host. For one, he never says what’s on the final prize card out loud. This is especially frustrating for blind fans, one person notes.
- “I’m blind. He just shows the card at the end and I never know what it says.”
Other fans jump in to try to figure out what’s going on.
- “I thought someone here said the announcer is supposed to say it, not Ryan,” someone else says. They continue, “Ever since he started hosting the show, whenever the bonus round is won or lost, he still doesn’t read out the bonus envelopes out loud. Maybe he doesn’t know numbers pretty much apparently.”
However, aside from that complaint, it seems like Ryan is making a decent impression, even if he will never compare to Pat.
- “We had a million dollar winner, an interesting bonus round change up in October, a month similar to Jeopardy where people can come back and compete and a corvette giveaway. This season had so many exciting moments and new additions to make the game feel fun to watch and I think Ryan is doing an amazing job even tho I did like Pat better a little.”
