Sarah Ramos Talks Lenox and Ripley Romance, Season 12 (Exclusive)

- Advertisment -

Dr. Caitlin Lenox (Sarah Ramos) is not one to open up on Chicago Med, but the end of Season 11 saw her doing just that, with both her love interest Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell) and her brother Kip (Logan Miller) when it comes to her prion disease diagnosis.

“I think she’s been unburdened,” Ramos tells TV Insider while sitting down with us in our studio at ATX TV Festival at the end of May. (Watch the video interview above with her and Chicago Fire‘s Miranda Rae Mayo.) “She’s been keeping all these secrets from her brother. She has a boyfriend who knows that she loves him. What does she have to hide? I guess she might have something to live for.”

That, for someone like Lenox, she adds, is “cringe” and “awkward.” She continues, “But I do think she’s going to keep letting her walls down a little bit and try to be a little more vulnerable and maybe ask for help.”

Heading into Chicago Med Season 12, Lenox and Ripley have said “I love you,” so it should be interesting to see what they’re like as a couple. After all, he’s made it clear that he’s not going to let her push him away.

“He’s a glutton for punishment. He keeps coming back for more,” says Ramos. While he’s come across as “just [wanting] romance so bad” in the past, she notes, “I think it pays off actually with Lenox because he’s so sincere and she needs that. He’s like, ‘I can hang. You’re f**ked up. I can handle that.’ And that’s what she needs.”

As for what she’d like to explore with the pairing in Season 12, Ramos looks to Mayo to find out how Fire has handled “Stellaride,” her and Taylor Kinney‘s characters’ relationship. Watch the full video above for that and much more.

Chicago Med, Season 12, Fall 2026, Wednesdays, 8/7c, NBC
