Sister Wives star Kody Brown has paraded his children on television since 2010. It has impacted them in various ways, and now one has demanded privacy to the point that they are being slammed by viewers. Keep reading for more on what fans have had to say and why they think this is a ridiculous ask.
Kody Brown Used His Children
A big part of Sister Wives was showing how well the four wives and eventually eighteen children all worked together. They started in one home in Utah, but then moved on to a cul-de-sac in Las Vegas. Things began getting very rocky before they made their final move to Flagstaff, Arizona, and that was when the plural family fell apart. Kody Brown lost three out of four of his wives plus he became estranged from many of his children. One of them was his sole child with his first wife, Meri Brown. They shared Leon, who lives in Colorado with their partner, Audrey Kriss.
The children were not paid for the show, as Gwendlyn Brown revealed. Of course, the parents were given money for their children, but nothing was given directly to the kids. There was a lot of trauma and emotional problems, and now, Leon is setting boundaries outside of the family. They made a video where they made it clear they were not a celebrity. When they go out to run errands or attend events, they just want to live their life. Therefore, if they are seen, back off:
“I’m not out in public to be people’s entertainment, or to be consumed by people. I’m out in public to live my life. So if you see me out, don’t come say hi.”
This does make sense as they are asking for privacy, and that is fair. However, it may be the way that they are coming across that rubbed followers the wrong way. It may have felt rude or demanding, and there could have been a kinder way to ask people to back off. At the same time, the Sister Wives alum is likely fed up with the attention.

A Tad Offputting
Sister Wives fans saw this and felt extremely put off by Leon Brown. In fact, they had a similar attitude and tone to their father, Kody Brown, except he loves attention. Immediately, they hopped into the comment section and were confused by how Leon shot down even a “hello”:
- I feel like I love this however, the whole not saying hi to you is confusing and sad.
- Hmm wont be watching that was just rude .
- “I don’t like talking to strangers in public” yet I’m going to tell thousands of strangers on the internet my story.
- It’s giving I need money
- The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. So rude.
At the same time, many applauded Leon for setting very strong boundaries and hoped that when they were ready, Leon would speak up.
