Good Morning America‘s Lara Spencer will soon be gearing up for another round of home renovation competition.
That Thrifting Show with Lara Spencer was picked up for a second season nearly three months after its March 19 debut on Freeform. The 12-episode series followed design duos as they transformed identical rooms using only thrifted and vintage items.
Spencer is known for sharing her love of thrifting on and off the small screen. The GMA personality famously hosted all 14 seasons of HGTV‘s Flea Market Flip, which ran from 2012 to 2019 and saw contestants transform thrifted items and resell them for the biggest profit.
Season 1 of That Thrifting Show with Lara Spencer premiered shortly after Spencer’s mother, Carolyn von Seelen, died at the age of 85 in February. While promoting the show on Live With Kelly and Mark, Spencer shared how it was her mother who inspired not only the show, but also her lifelong love for thrifting.
“I’m the youngest of five, and she would drag me to yard sales and thrift shops,” she explained in March. “What started out as sort of necessity became this shared love and pastime. Anytime we saw each other, we would go to whatever flea market or we’d create a map to go to yard sales and just find really cool ‘objet,’ as she would call it.”

What are the rules of That Thrifting Show with Lara Spencer?
Each episode follows two design teams as they are presented with identical spaces to renovate. “With limited time and budget, teams must treasure hunt for vintage and thrift store finds to design their way to beautiful, layered, finished rooms,” the show’s official description reads. “It’s style and sustainability in a race against the clock.”
Rather than a cash prize, the winners of each episode score bragging rights and get to take home all the furniture featured in both completed spaces.
