Cory Wharton has been part of a number of seasons of The Challenge. In fact, he is set to appear in the upcoming Season 42. In the meantime, two other series stars shared some choice words concerning Cory and another competitor in particular.
Cory Wharton Has Been A Finalist On A Few Seasons Of The Challenge
Wharton appeared on Season 29 of The Real World, also known as Real World: Ex-Plosion. He is also known for his appearances on Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom Family Reunion.
In addition to this, Wharton has also appeared on multiple seasons of The Challenge. Added to this, he was also a finalist during Battle of the Bloodlines, Invasion of the Champions, Total Madness, Double Agents, and The Challenge: USA 2. In addition, he’s appeared on other seasons, including Final Reckoning, Spies, Lies & Allies, and Battle of the Eras. He is also set to appear on the upcoming 42nd season, Cutthroat.
Recently, Wharton’s Challenge career was a topic of discussion between two other series alumni. This came about when Johnny Banana and Josh Martinez discussed the upcoming season’s cast on the former’s Death, Taxes, and Bananas podcast.
After Johnny talked about the new cast, Josh wondered why “some of these people” even made the list. Josh admitted, “I’m about to get in trouble.” However, Johnny shared, “No, you’re not. That’s what you’re here for.”
Josh questioned, “Cory and Brad [Fiorenza] on the same season? They both bring the same thing … [which is] nothing. Love them, great dudes, awesome, but they’re both a little flat…”
In Spite Of The Comments, Josh Assured That He ‘Loved’ Cory, But Felt The Season Needed ‘Stronger Vets’
Josh also felt that Cory and Brad might not bring “nothing” to the season since “they’re both dads.” Johnny, however, insisted, “I’m just gonna say this. Cory’s on Operation Sleep Through ‘The Challenge.’” Josh replied, “And it works for him though. It works for him every single time.” Johnny also poked fun at Cory for “looking all, like, f**king suave” each season.
Despite all of this, Josh assured multiple times, “I love Cory.” However, he agreed with Johnny’s sentiment that Cory and Brad “both bring the same dead energy.” He also appeared to agree with Johnny’s comment that Cory seemed to do “the least” during the game.

Josh argued, “That’s the one thing I hate about [Cory], because I’m the complete opposite… I’m in every fire, every pit. I’m like, ‘I’m going to war,’ and [Cory], I just don’t like that he is able to coast, ‘cause that’s never my [thing]. I probably could coast, I choose not to…”
Josh also expressed support for Brad, sharing that he was “one of the nicest” people and had a lot of “respect” for him. However, he ultimately felt that the upcoming season, which is set to debut on August 5, could have used “stronger vets.”
