Two CW game shows are back for another season. This time, Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit are making a big change — the episodes will now be one hour long instead of 30 minutes.
Hosted by Craig Ferguson, Scrabble brings the Hasbro word game to life as contestants put their vocabulary, strategy, and quick thinking to the test for the chance to win cash prizes. Since its premiere, the game show has reached 9.2 million viewers, according to a press release. In each episode, wordsmiths battle it out by playing a series of addictive, word-based games to win points and add words to a giant Scrabble board in the center of the set.
Ferguson took over as host on Season 2 after Raven-Symoné hosted Season 1. Raven joined as executive producer on Season 2. Ferguson is no stranger to game shows, as he hosted Celebrity Name Game from 2014 to 2017. He is also known for The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson, which ran on CBS for 10 years.
LeVar Burton will be back to host the next season of Trivial Pursuit. Inspired by the Hasbro game, the game show features fast-paced competition in which contestants put their knowledge to the test across a wide range of categories. For the past two seasons, Trivial Pursuit has reached 14.7 million viewers. Burton also serves as executive producer. He is best known for being the host of Reading Rainbow.
Play occurs on a giant version of the iconic Trivial Pursuit game board, as contestants battle through a range of play-along question categories to win wedges and beat each other to the center. The victor then faces a dramatic finale against the clock to claim the big-money jackpot.
Both shows doubled the number of episodes from Season 1 to Season 2. Now, they are doubling their airtime.
The game shows, along with the CW original show Police 24/7, which was also renewed, have collectively reached 31.4 million viewers. The three shows secured syndication clearances across 85 percent of U.S. television markets.
Together, they rank among The CW’s top five prime-time entertainment programs for the 2025–26 season. The Hasbro-inspired shows will be joined by the upcoming unscripted adaptation of Monopoly.
Season 2 of both Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble will air in syndication on The CW, starting October 1. The Season 3 premiere dates for both shows will be announced at a later date.
