The gang is back together for Grown Ups 3, and this time, they have to deal with their kids growing up. Production has begun on the third installment of the movie. Find out who is back, who is new, and what this adventure is all about.
Grown Ups followed a group of male friends who all went to school together and reunited 30 years later for their basketball coach’s funeral. The reunion sparked them to rekindle their friendship and go on crazy adventures and vacation together with their families.
In the second movie, Lenny Fader (Adam Sandler) moves back to his hometown from Los Angeles, California. He reunites with his friends once more, where they face their old and new enemies.
For the third movie, directed by Kyle Newacheck, the logline reads, “Now that their kids are all grown up, the gang is finally free to go on the ultimate adventure.”
Tim Herlihy joins as writer and producer, alongside Jack Giarraputo and the Sandlers. Fred Wolf, Judit Maull, Kevin Grady, Jackie Shenoo, Aidan Elliott, Kristen Ploucha, and Sarah Sarandos will executive produce.

Is the main cast coming back for Grown Ups 3?
Sandler will reprise his role, as well as serve as writer and producer through Happy Madison. He will be joined by his on-screen fashion designer wife, Roxanne Chase-Feder, played by Salma Hayek-Pinault.
The rest of the gang is back, including Rob Schneider, who didn’t return for the second movie. They include Kevin James, David Spade, Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph, and Maria Bello, as leads.
Jackie Sandler, who will also produce, Shaquille O’Neal, Colin Quinn, Tim Meadows, Cheri Oteri, Ellen Cleghorne, and Nick Swardson are also returning in guest roles.
The kids Jake Goldberg, Alexys Nycole Sanchez, Ada-Nicole Sanger, Morgan Gingerich, Kaleo Elam, Nadji Jeter, David Mattle, and Kamil McFadden round out the cast.
Cameron Boyce, who played Sandler’s middle child and was part of the first two installments, died in 2019. It is not clear how his character will be handled/honored. China Anne McClain, who played Rock and Rudolph’s daughter, is also not listed. The two starred together in the Descendants franchise.
Who is joining the franchise?
Julie Bowen, Deon Cole, and Bailee Madison will make their franchise debut. Bowen has starred in Happy Gilmore 1 and 2, as well as Hubie Halloween with Sandler. Madison was in Just Go With It with him as well. Sandler’s daughter, Sunny and Sadie, will join their parents in the film.
When does Grown Ups 3 come out?
The release date has not yet been announced, but it will air on Netflix.
