A lot of fans wish they could find themselves visiting The Price Is Right‘s stage. While some dream about actually playing the game, others would be fine with just taking a tour around the set. Recently, thanks to social media, one crew member gave fans a chance to see the show behind the scenes right from the comfort of their own homes.
Viewers Recently Got To See The Hidden Mics Of The Price Is Right
Over the years, a number of people have helped to bring The Price Is Right to life. This includes series host Drew Carey, who took over for Bob Barker in 2007, and announcer George Gray.
Henry Muehlhausen works as a broadcast mixer for the show. He has been part of the show since at least 2010.

In a recent video on Instagram, Muehlhausen gave a tour of the studio. He showed himself in the show’s sound booth, controlling the show’s sound with the push of a button. He then walked onto the stage.
Muehlhausen explained that the four contestants who come down are not “miked” up at this point. However, they have microphones installed on the podiums that they can speak into. There are also speakers next to them that allow them to hear Carey and Gray, as well as the other contestants’ bids.

Despite it being hard to hear at the podium, the show encourages a lot of noise from the studio audience. When a winner gets on stage, however, they usually get a lav mic.
Muehlhausen shared, “We like to have them miked so when they run over to their prizes and say silly things, we can hear them.” In addition, there were eight 416 microphones on the ceiling to help “capture the whole spread.”
With the post being shared on social media by sound designer and podcaster Dallas Taylor, many figures have been reacting to the share. George Gray himself wrote, “Awesome clip! Henry is an audio mad genius and a great friend too. He’s also a really talented bassist that should be a touring rockstar by now. I think that mustache may have held him back. Our show is incredibly lucky to have him!”
The full 20-minute video of the tour was also shared on Taylor’s YouTube page. As things concluded, viewers got a sneak-peek at one of the show’s most famous games, Plinko, complete with some hidden signatures on the set piece.
