The Price Is Right fans want a spinoff show made from the art director’s day in the life on set, as fans go wild over Dan Boland and his dog, thanks to a recent social media post.
In an Instagram video, Boland, who wore a “Price Est. 1972” sweatshirt, and his dog, Jeffrey, took fans behind the scenes of what the art director does in a day. Boland designed most of the studio room for TPIR. He is in charge of the screen graphics and video wall, as well as the broadcast graphics, the scenery on the doors, and the artwork on the games. “Really just about everything there is to do,” he said.
The first step was blocking. “You block the scenery around the car to make a little scene in the door,” Boland explained. He then directed a crew member to move an art piece on stage as far right as it could go. The video then went on with him giving more directions to crew members.
Boland then gets to sit, with Jeffrey in his lap, and see how everything that was placed on stage looks on camera. He gave a little tidbit about the flowers on the Mother’s Day special — all of the petals on them are made of hearts.
Offstage, there is a place called “Jeffrey Town,” where there are photos of Jeffrey posted everywhere. This gives people a place to go when they need a pick-me-up.
Game show fans went crazy over Dan and Jeffrey and asked for more videos like it. “The fans want more Jeffrey Town!” one fan said.
“I’m obsessed with everything about this,” wrote another.
“More of this pls! (spinoff show?)” a third said.
“WOW! Spinoff show, please!” another begged.
“The content we’ve been waiting for,” a fan said.
“Backdoor pilot for The Art Director & Jeffrey. Somebody green-light this hit new show,” one fan asked.
“Dan understands the assignment,” a fan said.
“Top notch on camera talent(s)! Get this guy a gig on the other side of the lens,” one last fan begged.
