‘The Price Is Right’ Fans React After Perfect Game Leaves Drew Carey Shocked

The Price Is Right fans think it was a first for the game show when a college student won a car on a perfect Hole-In-One game. Host Drew Carey was left shocked, saying he couldn’t ever remember that happening.

Cambridge Walton won the fifth item up for bid on Monday, June 8. She bid $655 on an electric guitar, an amplifier, and a cable. The actual retail price was $775. Since the next highest price was $850, Walton won the bid and got to play a game for a bigger prize.

She was one of many college students playing the game for the School’s Out special. Walton attends Southern New Hampshire University, where she studies psychology.

Walton played Hole-In-One for a 2025 Nissan Kicks Play. The game show contestant had to arrange six grocery items from least expensive to most expensive. If she got them all right, she could put from one tick away and try to get the golf ball in the hole, in order to win the car.

The items included a four-pack of mandarin orange fruit cups, a shaker of seasoning, eight electrolyte drink mix packets, a package of beef summer sausage, a 12-count box of bomb pops, and an eight-ounce container of sun tan lotion. From least to greatest, Walton said it was the seasoning, fruit cup, bomb pops, the sausage, the electrolyte mix, and then the sunscreen.

The seasoning was $2.49. The fruit cup was $4.99. The bomb pops were $5.99. The sausages were $7.99. The electrolyte mix was $10.99.

Finally, the sun tan lotion was $12.99. This meant that she got a $500 bonus and got to putt from the closest marker.

Carey demonstrated from the furthest line and got the ball in. Walton then tried from the closest line and got it in.

As the contestant walked over to the car, Carey said, “That was the best somebody’s done at this game in I don’t know when. I can’t remember the last time somebody made it all the way through since I’ve been the host. That was great.”

Walton spun a .60 on the wheel and advanced to the Showcase. She bid $27,000 on her Showcase, which was trips to Hawaii, Costa Rica, and Switzerland. The actual price was $32,396, making the difference $5,396. Her opponent was over by $10,000, so she won the Showcase and took home prizes totaling $56,843.

Fans reacted to her win, with many saying they didn’t know the last time that happened. “I never saw that before. It was awesome,” a Reddit user said. However, others said it last happened on October 11, 2019.

“Which is why $500 makes no sense. It’s so rare, make it 5k. I mean, they get 1k for getting 3 prices on half off, then equal cash value to shell game bonus,” another said.

“Drew even mentioned it’s been a while since someone played the game that well! It definitely makes the game more exciting!” a third added.

“I can’t remember the last time this has happened,” a fan said.

“Good for her. A Perfect game. Fantastic,” one wrote.

“I can’t remember the last time someone didn’t putt from the farthest line,” a Reddit user said.

“I’ve never seen it before,” one last fan said.

The Price Is Right, weekdays, 11a/10c, CBS, stream next day on Paramount+
