A milestone season! The Season 55 premiere of The Price Is Right is right around the corner, and fans are already sharing their hopes for the prizes and games on it.
A premiere date has not yet been announced for the upcoming season, but typically TPIR comes back towards the end of September. During Season 54, The Lion’s Share was the new game that was introduced. Contestants had the chance to win up to $500,000, and one contestant that season had the highest win ever.
So what could be added for the milestone 55th season? Will games be changed or added? How about prizes? Here is what fans want.
“What games and prizes do you hope to see on the Season 55 premiere episodes?” a Reddit user asked. “For me it’s the following: Golden Road for a $100,000+ car, Most Expensive for 3 trips, Plinko for $275,000($55,000 middle slot), Back to 76 for something like a hot tub or motorcycle, Double Prices for a trip, Let em Roll for a car maybe over $40,000+, Showcase Showdown: hit 55 in bonus spin, win $55,000, and Showcases worth over $40,000+.”
The highest amount a contestant can currently win in Plinko is $50,000 if they land all five chips in the $10,000 slot. Golden Road is played for a car and two other prizes, but the car is never valued very high. Another fan said that Stack the Deck should be played for a luxury car, which seems to be the consensus on most of the games that give away a vehicle. Other fans said if the vehicle costs $55,000, that would be cool because it’s the game show‘s 55th season.
Most Showcases are worth between $20,000 and $38,000. Again, they could be upped with luxury cars and trips.
“There’s a couple of things I would like to see from this season of Price. In no particular order…Upping the bonus on Hole in One to $1,000, Changing the slot layout of Plinko, they used a layout a few years ago which, in my opinion, was perfect…replace the outer three amounts with 500/1000/2500. 3 Strikes finally being won!!!” another fan said.
With it being a milestone season and host Drew Carey‘s 20th, it is bound to bring in new and exciting games and prizes.
