The Price Is Right ended its 54th season on June 26, but fans are already thinking about the next season. Season 55 won’t start until September, but Reddit users want these changes made.
“What are some changes or new features you would like to see next season?” the original poster asked. They had some ideas of their own before opening up the discussion further.
One idea is that they want an episode where they give away cars for every prize, just like they do with money for All-Cash Fridays. “Agree with all cars day. I’m disappointed they got rid of dream car week,” a fan agreed.
“More diversity of cars as prizes,” another said.
“I agree with the car days!” a third added. However, one fan said an all-cars game wouldn’t work because they couldn’t fit that many in the studio at one time.
They also want the rules changes on Double Showcase Winners. If a contestant’s bid for their Showcase is $500 or less from the actual retail price, they win both Showcases. Another fan wants the game show to pay cash to the winner of the Showcase to cover taxes, but a third chimed in and said they’d also have to pay taxes on the cash.
The original poster wants there to be higher amounts on Punch-a-Bunch as well as a new look, such as LED lights on the side. They also want a $1 million game to return. However, other fans said they think it should be raised to $100,000 or make the prizes “cumulative.” So far, The Lion’s Share is the game with the highest amount possible to win — $500,000.
Other Reddit users said they wish the show would spend less time on “hyped-up contestants” and more time on games. “We know you want them high energy, but it’s gotten out of hand,” one said.
“Agree with this,” a fan replied.
“I’d like to see secret bidding on bidders’ row. The issue would arise if two contestants bid the same amount,” another said.
To add to that, a fan said, “When you get called down, and you’re ready to place your bid, you don’t say your bid, but you write it down instead so it’s more fair. I always hated when someone would bid 1 dollar over someone else’s. Or ‘1 dollar Drew.’”
