The View is back for an iconic thirtieth season, and viewers are thrilled for what is in store. However, executive producer Brian Teta has put his foot down and banned several topics. After he did this, fans chimed in and shared their own list of what they think should be removed from the talk show. So, what are they, and do they make sense? Keep reading for more details.
The View Talks About Everything
There are rarely topics that are off-limits for the ladies of The View. That can be a blessing or a curse, but it keeps viewers tuning in daily and for thirty seasons. After all of the years, seasons, and hosts, they finally have a panel that seems to work well together. Alyssa Farah Griffin even stated that they can fight on the show but make amends when the camera stops rolling. Yet, some things had to end, and executive producer Brian Teta realized that. He just banned a handful of topics for Season 30, but what are they?
According to Reddit, this all came up on The Weekend View, and he stated that they were overused. Therefore, they had to go. The OP shared that the “banned” topics were:
- Joy meeting Steve at a nudist beach (she said the other hosts bring it up and she never does which is true)
- Ana mentioning Eva Longoria/Marc Anthony/Gloria Estefan
- Sunny discussing destroying Manny’s phones when they were dating
- Debates over the pronunciation of “Proust”
Fans noted that Ana Navarro is very much a name-dropper, which can be annoying. Yet, one follower added that they were not impressed by Eva Longoria, Marc Anthony, or Gloria Estefan. Therefore, they did not care much to hear about them.
Of course, faithful viewers felt that there were far more topics that needed to be banned aside from the ones Brian suggested.
Make These Go Away
The View fans added their own topics to the banned list that Brian Teta created. They felt that certain sayings should be off-limits and that this was just too short for their liking:
- I would have thought they would have banned Sunny from using the phrase “When I was a prosecutor…”
- Whoopi’s “Ya’ll look so familiar” referencing the audience.
- How can we get Whoopi’s “It’s up to us y’all” on this list?
- And “it’s only an hour show”.
However, many went to bat for Sunny Hostin’s reminder that she was a prosecutor, as they felt it was valid. When they talk about legal issues, they feel that she is someone who can offer a legitimate opinion with the education and experience to back it up.
