Rosie O’Donnell packed up and moved to Ireland in 2025. She blamed the move on President Trump taking office for his second term. The two have feuded for years. The President even considered revoking her U.S. citizenship. But the comedian returned to the States earlier this month for a surprise appearance at the Tony Awards. She revealed in a new interview whether she would ever return to The View. Keep reading to find out what she said about the idea.

Rosie O’Donnell Had Recent Run-In With Former Co-Worker

While in New York City for the Tony Awards, Rosie O’Donnell visited her daughter and took in a Broadway show. She ran into her former The View colleague, Whoopi Goldberg. The two only briefly worked together. Days after Whoopi shared her side of the run-in, Rosie spilled her side to Andy Cohen.

She said that they’ve actually run into each other a few times since their “disastrous” time on the ABC talk show. Rosie O’Donnell had nothing but kind things to say about her former co-worker. She said that Whoopi told her about becoming a great-grandmother again. Rosie said that Whoopi looked great. The two are on good terms despite their previous issues on the air.

Since her only nemesis, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, isn’t on the show anymore, would Rosie O’Donnell consider returning to The View?

She Reveals If She’d Ever Return To The View

Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Rosie O’Donnell’s fiery on-air argument was nearly a decade ago. The 2007 fight ultimately led to the comedian leaving the show for the first time. Elisabeth Hasselbeck stayed on the show for a few more years before leaving. Despite speaking negatively about the show and Joy Behar in 2025, Elisabeth Hasselbeck returned in March as a guest host while Alyssa Farah Griffin was on maternity leave.

Rosie O’Donnell joined Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live this week. An audience member asked if she would consider returning to The View as a guest co-host while she’s in New York City. The comedian revealed that she would be open to the idea but the show hasn’t reached out. She took a swipe at Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s return. “In the time of Trump, I think she’s the perfect person they want on TV spouting their rhetoric,” Rosie said.

Welcoming Rosie O’Donnell back would be a great way to celebrate the show’s upcoming 30th anniversary. Andy Cohen asked if Rosie is still upset that the producers went to a split screen during her intense argument with Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Rosie O’Donnell admitted to still holding a grudge over the incident.
