While many know her best from The View, Sunny Hostin has held many roles and worked various jobs over the years. Recently, on the talk show, she shared something surprising about her past, which surprised even some of her co-hosts. Since then, fans have been sharing their own reactions to the share.
The Co-Hosts Recently Sat Down With A Special Guest On The Weekend View
Hostin has worn many hats throughout her career. She has been a lawyer and a television personality. From 2007 to 2011, she served as a legal analyst for American Morning.
However, many know Hostin best as a co-host on The View. Hostin officially became a permanent co-host on the show in 2016 for the series’ 20th season. However, she had been a guest contributor as far back as 2014.
During a recent episode of The Weekend View, the co-hosts discussed the Season 35 premiere of Dancing with the Stars, complete with guest co-host Sam Champion of Good Morning America fame. Champion himself was a contestant during Season 31 of the dancing competition series back in 2022, dancing alongside Cheryl Burke.
Looking back at his time on the show, Champion admitted that dancing wasn’t as easy as it looked. Hostin agreed, noting that the “stars” were working alongside “trained dancers.”
Sunny Hostin Admitted Something She Liked (& Was Trained To Do)
Champion then expressed, “Right, these are trained dancers, and you have to do moves that you’ve never thought about doing. It’s put all your weight on one toe, right? So it’s like set, basically. And then move it and spin it, and then grab somebody and carry them. And you’re like, I don’t know how to do that.”
As the discussion went on, Champion and the regular co-hosts talked about the pain it takes to dance, especially professionally. However, Hostin admitted, “I love to dance though.” In fact, she revealed, “I’m a trained dancer, so I love to dance,” later explaining that she did “ballet.”
Hostin’s co-hosts were surprised by the reveal. Behar mused, “We all took ballet lessons. Is that what you’re talking about?” Hostin clarified, “No, but I took ballet lessons for like 10, 12 years.”
Hostin Also Shared The Reason Why She Hasn’t Joined Dancing With The Stars
This caused Champion to ask one important question: why hasn’t she yet competed on Dancing with the Stars herself? Hostin then admitted that she hasn’t had the best luck with competition shows.
As Hostin noted, “Because I’m so competitive, Sam, that if I lose, it is one more show. Like Jeopardy! And like Chopped! I don’t think that I can handle it ’cause I’m a sore loser.” Behar then chimed in that her co-host wouldn’t be able to pin her loss on a buzzer, either. Hostin admitted, “Exactly, I just, I don’t think I have it in me to do it because of the level that I like to compete at.”
With the episode released on The View‘s official YouTube page, fans shared their own reactions to Sunny’s revelation. Some were surprised, while others took it with a sense of humor. A few comments included:
