The Voice is about to return to NBC, and the four coaches are bonding heading into the new season. While the first rounds were already taped, fans are about to see how the four connect as the season starts. They also turned in a great performance together in anticipation of Season 22.
Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Camila Cabello all joined forces to perform a live version of Cabello’s hit song, Havana. Check out what happened below as well as watch the video performance of the song.
The Voice coaches perform ‘Havana’ together
Camila Cabello is one of two new judges this season. While Gwen Stefani fills in for the departed Kelly Clarkson, Camila has a different role. She replaces Ariana Grande in the coaching chairs. NBC hoped Ariana would bring some of her millions of fans to The Voice and it didn’t work. Not only did Ariana not bring her fans to the shows, but she couldn’t even get them to vote on her singers. Ariana had no one competing in the finale.
Camila has fewer followers than Ariana on social media but is a lot more approachable and outgoing in her Instagram and TikTok posts. NBC has to hope a second time is a charm when it comes to bringing in new younger viewers to keep the show growing for the future. To show their love for Camila joining the show (she previously worked as a mentor), the other three coaches joined her in a performance of her hit song Havana.
This is the song that made Camila Cabello a star. Havana was on her debut platinum album, Camila. The song also hit number one in several countries and ended up certified diamond by selling over 10 million units. It ultimately made Camila the first Hispanic singer to reach this milestone. Camila Cabello on The Voice
One thing that The Voice fans have voiced concern about is how the show will replace Kelly Clarkson. The repertoire between Clarkson and Blake Shelton was always entertaining, and that is gone now. However, from early reports, it sounds like Camila Cabello will take that role. Camila and Blake seem to have a fun back-and-forth going this season.
Gwen Stefani will also join the show, but don’t expect Blake to do too much outside of some fun little barbing with his wife. Whether Camila can do better than Ariana last season remains to be seen. However, fans hope she offers a bigger challenge when it comes to pushing her singers to succeed in the reality competition series.
