Al Roker has been part of Today for around 30 years. Thanks to this, he has gotten to share a number of moments from his life with fans. He recently shared an emotional moment with his son, with his wife, Deborah Roberts, also discussing the story.
Today‘s Al Roker Has Three Children: Courtney, Lelia, & Nick
Roker is a meteorologist and news anchor known for his work with Today. Joining the program as a weather anchor in 1996, he also co-hosts Today‘s third hour.
In his personal life, Roker has three children. His oldest child is his daughter Courtney, whom he shares with his late ex-wife, Alice Bell. He also has a son and daughter, Leila and Nick, whom he shares with his spouse, Deborah Roberts.
Recently, Roker took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos as he shared an emotional moment with his son, Nick. The 24-year-old was returning to college.
As Roker wrote in the caption, “Another drop off for my young man, @nickroker155.” However, Roker joked that he found comfort in an old saying from his father. As he wrote, “Gonna miss him but as Al Roker, Sr. always said, #cantmissyouifyoudontleave So very proud of him.”
Deborah Roberts Also Made Sure To Wish Her Son A ‘Fabulous’ Year
In the first photo, Nick could be seen standing inside her dorm room, in the corner in between a desk and a bed. The second photo was a close-up of the bed. The final photo showed Nick alongside his proud father as they happily smiled for the camera.
Around this time, Nick’s mother, Deborah Roberts, also shared the photos on Instagram. As she wrote, “It’s that time. And the first back to college move that I’ve missed. But proud of the boys for getting Nick set up! Well done! Wishing you a fabulous year @nickroker155 ! (Wonder how long the room will stay clean?)”
With summer coming to an end, various people across the country are seeing their children leave home for college, often getting situated around this time. Thanks to this, many fans took to the comments to share stories of their own. As Nick is also on the autism spectrum, a few also shared similar stories of other young people they knew as they furthered their education. Some comments included:
