Al Roker never ceases to amaze fans on Today. This time, he’s even grossing out his own co-stars. Keep reading to find out what he’s up to this time.
Al Roker On Today
Fans of The Today Show know Al Roker pretty well. He actually first started appearing on the show all the way back in 1990, when he was a stand-in weatherman for Willard Scott.

Of course, with his big personality and talent, he didn’t stay a stand-in for too long. In 1996, he became the weekend weatherman, and after that, he took on an even bigger role.
For the last couple of decades, Al has been interviewing people and hosting segments of the show, making some lasting impressions and memories with fans over the last several years. He just celebrated his 30th anniversary with the show and hasn’t even given a hint towards retirement yet.
Eating A Dog Treat
This week, Al really grossed out his co-hosts. The Today Show star decided to eat a dog treat on camera, of course. While hosting the 3rd Hour of Today, the Girl Scouts were on, divulging all the details on their new products for the 2027 season, People reports. While one cookie was allergy-friendly and vegan, another product was made without humans in mind. In fact, it’s a soft-baked blueberry muffin dog cookie called Patch Pals. Apparently, they partnered with Bark to make this fun new cookie happen.
Al, being the host he is, decided he wanted to try the new product, AKA the dog treat. Needless to say, this really had his co-hosts freaked. However, Al didn’t seem to take any issue with it.
“That’s not bad!” he exclaimed to his co-hosts.
Craig Melvin was horrified, to say the least.
“That is disgusting!” Craig says, shocked. “I can’t believe you just did that. Oh God, you ate dog food!”
Al took this as a chance to make fun of the studio commissary. “I’ve been to the commissary. Kidding, the commissary’s fantastic, especially Mr. Lee at the sushi bar,” he jokes.
Dylan Dryer made sure to double-check the ingredients to make sure that Al would be okay.
“I want to see if there’s anything in there that he can’t eat,” she explained.
However, good news for dogs and nervous pet parents alike: apparently they are made of quality ingredients. So, the cookies seem to be safe enough for human consumption.
“It’s actually all human ingredients,” she reveals.
