Dylan Dreyer Compared Herself To A Certain Baseball Player During A Recent Share On Social Media
Dreyer joined Today through its weekend edition in 2012. Serving as a weather anchor, she eventually expanded her role to become a co-host during the show’s third hour.
In recent years, Dreyer has become known for sharing stories with fans through all sorts of outlets. Notably, she recently became the host of The Parent Chat, a podcast where she discusses family with guests.
Recently, Dreyer shared that she endured a knee injury on social media. Taking to her Instagram Stories, she shared a photo of her leg as she was lying in bed, treating her knee with an ice pack.
As Dreyer wrote, “I feel like Jake Taylor. At 45, my knee doesn’t rebound like it used to in high school.” Dreyer’s comments appeared to be in reference to the character of the same name from the Major League film franchise, a former all-star catcher with bad knees played by actor Tom Berenger.
The Today Star Has Also Recently Been Sharing Photos & Videos Of Her Summer Trip to Turks & Caicos
Dreyer didn’t divulge much about her injury, including what caused it. The Today star is known for her active lifestyle, leading some fans to think she might have simply hurt herself during an exercise routine, especially considering her sports movie reference.
The post came out after Dreyer recently returned home from a family vacation to Turks & Caicos. At the time, she was celebrating her 45th birthday. During this time, she had been sharing a few photos and videos of her having fun with her three sons while on a break from Today.
Dreyer previously said goodbye to the vacation destination in a recent post on Instagram. As she shared at the time, “Hate to leave paradise on my birthday but it’s time to get back to reality. Another year, another amazing annual family vacation! I’m so blessed to share wonderful memories with some of my favorite people!”
Dreyer had been away from Today for about a week in late July and early August. She has since returned to the show on August 3, 2026.
