Throughout her time on Today, Jenna Bush Hager has made a lot of shares about her life. Recently, she found herself in tears while sharing a story about her daughter’s birthday. In fact, her co-star, Sheinelle Jones, also had a touching moment to share.
Today‘s Jenna Bush Hager Shares Three Children With Her Husband, Henry Hager
Jenna became known to many at a young age as the daughter of George W. Bush, the 43rd President of the United States. Later, she made a name for herself as in broadcast journalism, particularly through her work for Today.
In her personal life, Jenna has been married to Henry Hager since 2008. Together, the two share three children: Mila, Poppy, and Hal.
During a recent episode of Today, Jenna got emotional while reflecting on her daughter Poppy’s 11th birthday. The Today star shared that she treated her daughter to an Olivia Dean concert at Madison Square Garden. She explained, “I took Poppy, just the two of us. It was her birthday present.”
Jenna continued, “What I’ve realized about that child; she’s the most fun human being in the entire world. Now I wanna cry, I’m on edge.”

However, Jenna began to really get emotional when she described her and Poppy choosing outfits for the event. She shared, “I, first of all, was wearing polka dots ’cause Mila told me to, and she bosses us all around. Poppy was wearing polka dots, and I was like, ‘Pops, I have this other shirt if you don’t want me to match you.’ And she was like, ‘Why wouldn’t I want you to match me?’”
Wiping away her tears, Jenna continued, I was like, ‘She’s not embarrassed by me. She’s so fun.’ We were having this dance party. I didn’t embarrass her. She’s just so sure of who she is as a human that even her annoying mother can’t dim her brightness.”
Jenna’s co-host, Sheinelle Jones, also took her daughter to of one of Dean’s shows. She recalled a moment when Dead asked audience members to embrace their “best friend.” Both Jenna and Sheinelle’s daughters hugged them. As Jones quipped, “I was like, ‘They like us!’” Jenna then shared, “I was so happy that I could have that moment with her. To share art with your children in whatever form, it’s so cool,” all while dubbing Dean a “rare talent.”
