Jenna Bush Hager has shared a lot about her life over the years, both on Today and on social media. During an episode of the show, she shared a correction about a recent post about a past incident. However, during the share, she mused that her father’s politics might have caused her some issues at the time.

Jenna Bush Hager Recently Took Part In A Social Media Trend With An Instagram Share

Jenna and her twin sister, Barbara, are the daughters of the 43rd U.S. president, George W. Bush. They are also the granddaughters of the 41st U.S. president, George H. W. Bush.

Jenna herself, however, has since established herself as a broadcast journalist, such as her work with Today. Known for hosting the program’s fourth hour, she currently works alongside Sheinelle Jones.

During a recent post on Today With Jenna & Sheinelle‘s Instagram page, Jenna took part in a recent viral trend. This meme has people pretend to sit down for a fake Netflix documentary about a shocking time in their lives. As Jenna shared, “Preparing for my Netflix documentary about that one time at El Arroyo when I was 19 … iykyk.”

This was in reference to Jenna receiving two citations for alcohol-related offenses in Texas back in 2001. During an episode of Today, however, Jenna revealed that there was an error in the post.

The Today Star Noted That Someone Involved In The Story Wasn’t Too Fond Of Her Presidential Father

Jenna explained, “I incorrectly, with the help of the social media team, stated that I had a drink at El Arroyo. Now, I have had some drinks at El Arroyo, but the drink which we will be talking about in the ‘documentary’ was actually at Chuy’s.” She continued, “So, I just want to say, ‘I am sorry, El Arroyo. You always served.’ No, you didn’t. [You did] when I was 21. I just want to give credit where credit is due, and I know that many of you in the comments felt as though we didn’t accurately display what was happening. But when we do the ‘documentary,’ things will be OK.”

Sheinelle asked her co-host to explain what happened further. Jenna explained, “My sister [Barbara Bush] was in town from Yale. She’s the smarty, and we went to Chuy’s, not El Arroyo. And we ordered a margarita with our fake IDs. I was, like, almost 21.”

Jenna then noted that her father might have inadvertently caused her legal troubles. She noted, “The waitress, I think — although this will be discussed in the ‘documentary’ — was not a fan of my father’s at the time, so she called 911,” before sharing that she was escorted out.

According to an ABC News report from May 2001, the twin sisters, alongside 20-year-old Jesse Day-Wickham, were issued citations for purchasing and drinking alcohol under the age of 21. Reportedly, the sisters did not do any jail time. However, they were required to perform community service.
