Craig Melvin appeared on NBC‘s Today after a late-night out with his son, Delano.
Melvin started his day live in Studio 1A on Thursday, June 11, after he and Delano attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals the night prior. “And here we go….” he captioned an Instagram selfie the pair took before the game at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, June 10.
Melvin’s colleagues and fans gushed over the sweet father/son photo in the post’s comments. “He’ll always remember this,” wrote Weekend Today‘s Laura Jarrett. NBC News’ Jesse Kirsch commented, “Couldn’t have picked a better game!!” Today correspondent Kaylee Hartung shared several clapping hands emojis.

Heading into the game with a 2-1 lead, the New York Knicks narrowly defeated the San Antonio Spurs with a score of 107-106 on Wednesday. Following the victory, Melvin shared another Instagram post featuring clips of the winning moment, as well as a snap of his and Delano’s reactions.

Last month, Melvin cheered on the team alongside Delano, his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, and their daughter, Sybil. “Playoff basketball at the Garden just hits different,” he captioned a May 22 Instagram selfie the family took at the game. “Took the family to Madison Square Garden last night to watch the Knicks take down Cleveland. The energy, the crowd, the memories…unforgettable. New York showed out!”
