Dylan Dreyer‘s youngest son, Rusty, just celebrated a major childhood milestone.

In a Thursday, June 11, Instagram post, the Today meteorologist revealed that Rusty recently graduated from preschool and was very happy to do so. “Rusty is so done with preschool,” she jokingly captioned photos of Rusty from the graduation ceremony, where he sat nonchalantly on stage in a pair of festive sunglasses.

Fans couldn’t get over the cute and funny photos in the post’s comments. “I thought his shades were emoted on. The aura he’s producing in these photos,” one user joked. Another added, “His future’s so bright he’s gotta wear shades.” Someone else shared, “The swagger and skinned knees.”

Dreyer’s Today co-host Al Roker quipped, “Those kids really want to have a doctor take a look at that condition. What are the odds that all of his friends in school have that same weird look.” A different person posted, “I can’t believe how fast your boys have grown, he’s too funny.” A separate commenter stated, “Too cool for Preschool!”

Rusty is the youngest of Dreyer’s three sons. She shares her kids, including Calvin and Oliver, with her estranged husband, Brian Fichera. In July 2025, Dreyer announced via Instagram that the pair had separated a few months prior. She officially filed for divorce in March.

Dreyer began the June 4 episode of her podcast, The Parent Chat, by sharing an emotional video of Rusty crying as they bid farewell to their New York City apartment. Dreyer and her kids moved from the Big Apple to the suburbs last year.

“Smile, it’s our last video here!” Dreyer said to her son as he cried on the floor. “Did you like this house?” she added, to which he tearfully replied, “Yeah.”

After the clip, Dreyer said watching the moment back made her “bawl” her eyes out. “It was the first time I really looked at the different chapters in my life, and it kind of was all summed up in my kids’ bedroom,” she said, referring to all three of her boys sharing a bedroom in the apartment. “It was just a really special time to look back and reflect on that because we just sold that apartment, and now, it was empty. And that room had seen so much, and now, we were moving on to a new adventure, a new chapter as a family.”

Dreyer previously got sentimental about the move while sharing several photos of her sons’ bedroom over the years via Instagram. “This room holds a lot of memories and I thank God every day for each and every one of them. ‘A house is made of walls and beams; a home is built of love and dreams.’ — Ralph Waldo Emerson,” she captioned the October 2025 upload. “And the boys have a whole lifetime of love and dreams ahead of them! Just not in a triple bunk bed!”
