Tori Spelling Heavily Leaned On Mother Amid Divorce
When Tori Spelling and her children were getting really sick, it was a struggle for the whole family. They were constantly in the hospital with different ailments and then the culprit was seemingly discovered. Tori and her husband, Dean McDermott’s home had a severe mold problem. Around the same time this was uncovered, Dean shared that their marriage was over via social media. Though he quickly retracted his statement, the damage was done. Tori soon moved with their five children to a motel and then to an RV which seemed uncomfortable and cramped.
It was alleged that Tori’s mother, Candy Spelling had offered to help but she declined. Apparently, the actress wanted to look homeless and hard up for her impending divorce. It took some time but she finally found a stable residence for her and her children while filing for divorce from Dean. Additionally, Tori has mended fences with her mother and leaned on her heavily during her marital struggles. Candy opened up to People about Tori’s struggles: “Well, she really needed [support].”
More so, it really meant “a lot” for Candy to be there and to help Tori, adding: “Everything’s good.” Despite the struggles the mother-daughter duo faced in the past, an insider said this of Candy:
“She has given Tori assurances that her and her kids would absolutely be taken care of and there should be no financial insecurity moving forward.”
In September 2023, Tori Spelling made it clear that she loved and appreciated her mother. She posted a birthday tribute to Candy Spelling and had this to say:
“I love you. Grateful to be your daughter. Some of my happiest memories involve laughing so hard with you that we were happy crying uncontrollably and you doing your LOL wheeze… 😂. @randyspelling you know the one! Usually also involving tickle fests and food ( maybe ice cream 🍦🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️) fights. I never take for granted the beautiful life you raised Rand and I in with Dad. And, I am such a resilient and strong human and I owe so much of that to you. Strong 💪 women run in our family. I’m passing it on. Loved and still love watching horror films in bed with you. Always. Xo.”
Moving On & Up
Aside from her new home and renewed relationship with Candy Spelling, Tori Spelling has embarked on her own podcast. Though she is no stranger to the pod world, MisSPELLING is all about her trials and tribulations. It was there that she opened up about the final straw in her marriage to Dean McDermott. She admitted that she felt relief when he announced their marriage was over. Tori would never have ended it on her own but he took that out of her hands. Though it was hard for her children to read it on social media, it has been for the best and she is better off in the long run.
