What To Know
- Michael Malarkey joins Tracker in a recurring role.
- Find out who the TVD alum will play and what he means for Reenie.
Tracker is getting some help from a Vampire Diaries star this fall.
Michael Malarkey has been cast in the recurring role of Adam, who has history with lawyer Reenie (Fiona Rene), CBS announced as part of its press day for its fall lineup.
His character description reads: “Disarmingly handsome, intelligent and sophisticated, but with a bit of a bad-boy undercurrent, Adam works as a private investigator for high-end law firms. He runs into Reenie (Fiona Rene), an old friend he hasn’t seen in years, and their familiar banter brings questions about their history and possible future.”
Might Adam be the answer to a successful romance for Reenie? She hasn’t had the best of luck. There’s the history between her and Colter (Justin Hartley), though they have seemed to move past that and settled into being friends. Then her relationship with Elliot (Michael Rady) got complicated. We’ll have to see what that hint of a “possible future” means — though the “bit of a bad-boy undercurrent” could suggest just more drama to come.

Tracker returns for its fourth season on Sunday, October 4, at 9:30/8:30c. It will move to its regular time slot of 9/8c the following week on October 11.
When we caught up with Justin Hartley about the new season, we asked him about what’s coming up for Reenie and her law firm, and he hinted at this new development for her.
“I guess she’s finding a new office. I guess she wants a new office across town or something, and she’s struggling to find it,” he shared with us. “[We’re also] diving into her personal life a little bit. I hope a little bit more even. I’d like to find a little bit more about her backstory and things like that. So hopefully they’ll go there a little bit more, too, in the writers’ room.”
