Jesse Watters Recently Discussed The United States’ Mission In Iran On The Five
Watters is known to many for his work with Fox News. Early in his media career, he was known for the “Watters’ World” segment on The O’Reilly Factor.
This eventually spun off into its own show. In 2022, Watters became the host of Jesse Watters Primetime. He also serves as one of the co-hosts on The Five.
Recently on the show, Watters joined his fellow co-hosts as they began to discuss the recent Iran-US ceasefire agreement. When the chyron read, “Taco taunts: Libs mock Trump after U.S. and Iran agree to ceasefire,” Watters shared, “We have set them back militarily, years,” as he continued to yell, “Years!”
Watters continued to praise the U.S.’s mission in Iran. He shared, “They can’t come back from this. And they have no leadership, they have nothing. They have nothing left, and we did it without boots on the ground.” As he continued, he noted that the United States “only lost 13 brave servicemembers,” noting that this was done “in the timeline the president said he was going to do it.”
A Few Comments Expressed Concern About The Comment Over The Fallen Servicemen
When discussing the current ceasefire, Watters noted that it would grant “soldiers a little R&R.” However, he noted that things weren’t “over,” with the country needing time to reenergize.
Watters’ comments ran around 90 seconds while his co-hosts sat in silence. Thanks to this, viewers expressed some concern for his mental well-being.
As noted by The U.S. Express, some made comparisons with similar criticisms aimed at President Donald Trump’s mental health. The Fox News host was also criticized for the comment concerning the fallen servicemen and Watters’ apparent lack of concern. Some comments included:
- “Whoa, this guy is losing his marbles just like Grandpa…”
- “And if Watters thinks Iran ‘caved’ with their peace framework, he’s as delusional as Trump.”
- “Can anyone tell me what they caved on? The strait is closed and Iran was launching attacks against its neighbors all day long today. Nobody even seems to know what we agreed to.”
- “His flippant comments about service members.”
- “Giggling while saying we only lost 13 soldiers.”
- “He has to be doing this for attention, or this is scripted, because no one can be this obviously wrong.”
