What Will Parker Schnabel Do After Gold Rush Ends?

Although Parker Schnabel is at the top of his game, he is already thinking of his post-Gold Rush life. Speaking to People Magazine, Parker shared that he doesn’t know what is next. But, he doesn’t consider his next chapter as the end of his adventures. “I look forward to the next chapter of my life. I really don’t think that it’ll be something where I’m like, ‘Oh, my glory days are behind me.’”

He then pointed out how his grandfather John Schnabel didn’t start gold mining until he was 65. Also, he and his father started a new business, and his dad is 69 and ‘living his best life.” Therefore he is not afraid of getting older or trying a new business. “So I’m just like, man, age is absolutely just a number.”

What was interesting is that the publication reported that he didn’t know where he would be in the next few years, but that answer seems pretty obvious. He will be at the Dominion Creek claim.

Parker Schnabel Committed To Dominion Creek For Five More Years

Currently, during Gold Rush Season 15, Parker Schnabel is focused on Dominion Creek. When he started filming Season 15 in the Spring, the Schnabel crew had a goal of 60,000 ounces of gold to mine in six years. That means 10,000 ounces a season. Should Discovery want to follow this journey, the final year at this claim would be Season 20. But, even if Discovery cancels, it is likely that Parker will still be mining. This is a historic claim that he is lucky to have purchased.

Furthermore, the pressure is on to get this job done. The water license is only for these six seasons. Fans of the Discovery series know that obtaining a water license is one of the biggest challenges gold miners have been dealing with the past few seasons. This has derailed Tony Beets, as well as other veteran gold miners.

Therefore, even if Discovery should cancel the series this season, Parker will surely still be mining the full six seasons. Moreover, this sort of claim could naturally be a final project and the chef’s kiss to an incredible career. When Parker ends the six seasons at Dominion Creek, he will be 35 years old and ready for something new.

Gold Rush Season 15 is currently airing on Discovery on Friday nights. Parker Schnabel fans, what do you think he is doing after gold mining?
