You’re getting warmer! Three Wheel of Fortune contestants shocked fans when none of them could figure out a simple winter-themed puzzle.
A clip was posted from an older game of WOF on Instagram. “This must be some kind of record,” it was captioned on August 25.
During the Pat Sajak era of Wheel of Fortune, the contestants could not figure out the winter accessory to keep warm during a Triple Toss-up. The puzzle in “What Are You Wearing?” looked like “_ _NTER _ _ _ _ S_ _ _S” when Jason guessed “Winter Pant Suits.”
“Nope,” Sajak said. He still had time, but couldn’t guess it.
J.P. then shrugged and guessed, “Winter Blue Socks.” He was also incorrect. The third contestant, Rachel, slowly said, “Winter Warm Socks.”
The game show host let her know that that was not correct. Rachel then guessed, “Winter White Socks” before time ran out, but that was also incorrect.
Even as the puzzle looked like “WINTER W_ _ _ S_C_S,” the contestants were still stumped. The turn went back to Jason, who guessed “Winter Work Socks.” “No,” Sajak chuckled.
The puzzle was “Winter Wool Socks,” which none of the contestants could seem to guess. Fans reacted to their guesses in the comments.
“I’m crying! This is so funny,” one fan said.
“OMG!” another commented.
“Wool!!!!! Gawd these people,” a third added.
“The word wool illused them,” a fan commented.
“Nobody could think of wool?!” one fan wondered.
“Where do they find these people? At the DMV?” an Instagram user wondered.
“Come on… winter wool socks. Not hard,” one fan pointed out.
“Buy a d**n ‘O’, people,” one last fan said.
“Wool people. Wool!” a Facebook user commented.
The new season of Wheel of Fortune, now hosted by Ryan Seacrest, is set to premiere in September. An exact date has not yet been announced. However, it typically starts the Monday after Labor Day. Vanna White will be back as the letter-turner, alongside Seacrest. Tune in to see if more moments like this happen.
