Whitney Way Thore Denies Using Weight Loss Drugs, Why?

TV Shows

Whitney Way Thore, the star of My Big Fat Fabulous Life on TLC loses weight, and fans are convinced she uses drugs in the glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) range to do so. However, she denies it. Well, denying it isn’t changing the minds of critics who wish she would tell them her secret. If she uses something like Ozempic, her denial puzzles people who struggle with weight issues.

Whitney Way Thore Calls Herself ‘Fat’ And Flaunts Her Nudity

The TLC star often ends up revealing a lot of her body. That is fine because, in life, it’s what matters on the inside that counts. Most reality TV viewers agree that it’s not good to body shame. However, the MBFFL star will use it herself. But then, if others do use the word, the daughter of Glenn Thore gets hurt by body shaming.

The question fans might need to ask, is whether the premise of My Big Fat Fabulous Life ever presented Whitney Way Thore as a role model for weight loss. The show originated from 107.5 KZL’s Fat Girl Dancing videos. Going viral, TLC saw an opportunity to explore living with obesity while making the best of it. It never said that she intended to desperately try and lose weight and be a role model for that. Rather, it highlights the bias against larger-than-average people.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life Star Actively Denies Using GLP-1 Assistance

Very few people believe that grief after her mom died, led to a massive weight drop. While it can cause loss, viewers argue that it’s seldom permanent. Or, as dramatic as her current loss. Several times, the use of Ozempic or other drugs for Diabetes Type 2 emerged on social media. This week, an OP on Reddit raised the subject again.

She clearly is [denying using [GLP-1] after what like of 11 years of “trying” everything else but is now clearly dropping pounds dramatically?? This is the WORST trait of hers of all…But it’s just a slap in the face of the viewers that pay for her life. I think honesty would pay off tremendously for her character…I just found she’s lost 70lbs as of 10/23, starting 11/20…

My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans reacted in the comments and some interesting observations arrived.

  • She said her weight loss is due to grief but that’s bull. We know she turns to food when upset, it’s been on the show. She is most definitely using ozempic or the like. There is nothing wrong with that but yeah, I don’t know why she’s not sharing that.
  • Like why deny an honest truth?? A helpful truth. Nothing she’s done has worked in any favor for her.
  • She says she’s not using “ozempic.” She’s likely using another brand like wegovy, rybelsus, mounjaro or compounded semaglutide. So when she says she’s not on “ozempic” she’s technically not lying.

Whitney Way Thore Not Allowed To Admit Using GLP-1 Drugs?

One potentially valid argument arrived that isn’t unthinkable:

She may be contractually obligated to not say anything about GLP-1 so it doesn’t appear as though she’s endorsing it. Why do you think that when people on reality shows, when they are drinking soda or eating fast food, those things are blurred out? It’s because unless they have a contract to endorse those brands, those brands can’t be featured. Not everything is a conspiracy theory.

Of course, with MBFFL that could apply. Bear in mind, that other reality TV stars have shown fans around the space where they film and explained how they have to hide certain products from the cameras. Might her denials be for such a simple reason? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and come back here for all your My Big Fat Fabulous Life news.
