However, she teased a mystery man on social media for the last few months. Whitney Way Thore finally hard-launched her relationship with Jake Beaudoin in August. A few days later she shared the unexpected news that he surprised her with a proposal.
She said yes, of course, but the moments leading up to the proposal were stressful. PEOPLE magazine caught up with the TLC star at the Creative Emmys over the weekend. Whitney Way Thore was a presenter and her proud fiance accompanied her to the event.
Jake Beaudoin proposed during a romantic getaway. But Whitney Way Thore didn’t think things were going well during the trip. “I thought he was about to break up with me, which is the funny thing,” she told the outlet. She was convinced that he was going to leave her after they returned home from the trip.
“He was acting a little weird and can it go one of two ways. Either you’re getting married or you’re breaking up, you don’t know which one,” Whitney Way Thore added.
