America’s Got Talent returns with the Season 21 premiere on June 2, and NBC released one audition ahead of the show. The performance was from a teenage singer, Lai Noelle, who majorly impressed judges Simon Cowell, Mel B., Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel with her performance.
Lai sang Sienna Spiro’s “Die on This Hill” and received a standing ovation. Cowell even hit his Golden Buzzer for her, which means she’ll automatically advance to the Live Shows.

Who is Lai Noelle?
Lai is a student and aspiring singer. She was joined by her parents at her AGT audition and they also run her public social media accounts. Lai often posts videos of herself covering songs on social media and she has done local performances at festivals, events, karaoke bars, and more.
Of her decision to audition for AGT, Lai told the judges, “I believe I was more ready this year. I definitely got more better in my performances and being confident in myself.” She was admittedly “excited” and “nervous” before taking the stage.
Cowell told her, “Lai, shall I tell you, honestly, what I think? Words aren’t necessary.” He then stood up and pushed the Golden Buzzer, prompting Vergara to tell Mel B., “I was gonna do it. I told him I was going to do it!” Mel warned Vergara, “No! You don’t tell him!’
