The plot thickens in Starz’s Outlander: Blood of My Blood as the prequel series further explores time travel lore in a shocking conversation between Julia (Hermione Corfield) and Maisri (Katharine O’Donnelly). Warning: Spoilers for Outlander: Blood of My Blood Season 2 Episode 7 ahead!
In the episode, “Heart of the Highlands,” the seer employed by Lord Lovat (Tony Curran) tells Julia that she doesn’t see her time traveling, as her past is in the future, but what lies ahead is not. But how could that be possible? After all, viewers saw that Julia was capable of time traveling in the show’s series premiere episode in 2025.
But Maisri confirmed to Julia that it was only because she was pregnant with a time traveler that she was able to pass through the stones, with gemstones only serving as a layer of protection when passing through the veil. It seems that the revelation confirms Claire (Caitriona Balfe) gained her ability to time travel because of her father, as Julia being pregnant with her and Henry’s (Jeremy Irvine) child was the only way for her to time travel. This offers some deeper context into understanding Claire’s history in the TV universe.
Can Julia time travel?
While Maisri said Julia wouldn’t be able to travel through the stones, she did while carrying a traveler. Could another pregnancy allow her passage if she wishes to return to the future?
