Will Estes will guest star as Jamie Reagan in Boston Blue Season 2, according to Donnie Wahlberg. The Blue Bloods alums were spotted on set of the CBS spinoff in Boston on August 6, as seen in a video posted by a fan on Instagram (below), and Wahlberg posted a photo of him and Estes filming with Sonequa Martin-Green, Mika Amonsen, and Marcus Scribner on his Instagram Story on August 7, welcoming Jamie Reagan back to the world of Blue Bloods.
TV Insider has confirmed Estes’ guest-star role with CBS and has inquired further for details on which episode he will appear in and when it will air. Boston Blue Season 2 premieres on Friday, October 9, at 10/9c.
Boston Blue Season 2 started filming in Toronto in early July. Production occasionally films in Boston, Wahlberg’s hometown, and they were filming in Beantown the week of August 3 with Estes. Wahlberg posted a selfie from the set of a restaurant on his Instagram Story on the afternoon of August 7.
“Welcome (back) to the family!” Wahlberg captioned the selfie that features Estes, Martin-Green, Amonsen, and Scribner. “Jamie Reagan! Aka Will Estes! #BostonBlue.” The song on the story is “Celebration” by Kool & The Gang.
A fan in Boston filmed a video of Wahlberg on set with Estes on August 6. Wahlberg posted the video on his Instagram Story, and then posted a bunch of videos from set that show him greeting fans, in-character as Danny Reagan directing traffic, and more.
Estes is the latest Reagan family member to appear on the spinoff.
The first was Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan), followed by Henry Reagan (Len Cariou), and then Joe Hill (Will Hochman). Marisa Ramirez reprised her role as Maria Baez throughout Season 1, and thanks to Danny and Baez’s romantic reunion in the Season 1 finale, she’ll be back in Season 2.
Season 1 confirmed that Jamie and Eddie’s (Vanessa Ray) had a baby boy named Joe Francis Reagan. Jamie appears to be visiting his big brother Danny in the scene teased on Wahlberg’s story. Could Eddie and the baby appear in Season 2, as well?
