Young & Restless Eric Braeden Shares Heartbreaking Diagnosis

Eric explained that he was recovering from knee surgery when he started to have some issues with his prostate. The actor admitted he wasn’t too keen on getting so personal with his followers. But, he thought the information might be helpful to older men who happen to follow him as it could happen to them too.

“I hate to be so personal, but I think this may be good for some older guys who may, or may not, listen to this. It’ll happen to them.”

After experiencing an increasing amount of pain and an inconvenient frequency of urinating, Eric Braeden went to the hospital. He ended up getting seen by a few different doctors before receiving a cancer diagnosis.

Eric Braeden admits the diagnosis was very unexpected, but he feels determined to deal with it the best way possible. He proceeded to share his progress on his treatment. Thus far, he’s had surgery to get the cancer removed. After performing a biopsy, his doctors determined he had both low and high-grade cancer cells. So, he is continuing to get treatment for the high-grade cells through a six-week immunotherapy treatment plan. Eric will get infusions every week for the next few weeks. Thus far, he’s received two infusions.

“So, that’s where I am right now. I’m a little under the weather, but not really much. I’ve learned, now, to listen to my body more and not go all out. I’m gonna get it. And I’ll be in top form again soon.”

He Doesn’t Want People To Count Him Out

His emotional video updating his fans on his situation was nearly 13 minutes long. He, however, doesn’t want fans to count him out as he plans to beat this thing and get back to work. Eric Braeden also considered this to be a learning experience as he’ll now listen to his body more.
