If you’re considering signing up for or switching down to Netflix’s advertising tier in the US in 2026, be aware that 145 titles are blocked (1.85% of the total library of 7,834 titles), making them unavailable to watch. Below is the list of titles you won’t be able to stream on Netflix’s advertising tier as of January 2026.
Launched in November 2022, Netflix’s ad tier notably had a few drawbacks. The biggest issue was that many major titles, including Netflix Originals, remained unavailable to watch and were still blocked. When the ad tier first launched, 5.1% of titles were unavailable (326 out of the 6,324 available). A few months later, in February 2023, it was 5.4% of the library (348 titles out of 6,444 available). On February 7, 2024, only 175 titles were unavailable in the Netflix US library, representing a 50% decrease from the previous year. As of December 2024, the percentage has decreased again, to 151 titles, representing 2% of the overall library of 7,381 titles (a fall from 2.1% in November 2024).
Why the drop in December 2024? The majority of the interactive specials from DreamWorks were unavailable in the ad tier and were all pulled on December 1st.
House of Cards is unavailable on the Netflix ad tier.
List of Netflix Originals Unavailable on Netflix’s Advertising Tier
Let’s begin with the Netflix Originals first that are blocked on the ad-tier. Until 2025, Peaky Blinders was on this list, although it is now available on all Netflix tiers.
The big holdouts in this category are the DreamWorks Animation titles, although interestingly, Gabby’s Dollhouse is not impacted. House of Cards is an early Netflix title from MRC, and they still don’t have the rights to show it with ads.

List of Licensed Movies Unavailable on Netflix US Advertising Tier
Most of the movies on this list are ultimately controlled by Sony (and its subsidiaries, including Columbia, TriStar, Screen Gems, and Stage 6), which is especially bruising since that’s the company Netflix has a first window deal with in the US (meaning new theatrical movies stream on Netflix first).
The other biggest consistent blockers are titles tied to The Weinstein Company, as well as smaller distributors like StudioCanal, Canal+, and IFC Films.
