‘DWTS’ Cast, Crew Banding Together For Well-Deserved Pay Hike

- Advertisment -

Season 35 of Dancing With the Stars has done incredibly well, following a previously successful season. That being said, a pay hike is most definitely on the table, but that means everyone needs to band together. So, how important is it that everyone at DWTS form their own little union? Keep reading for more details.

DWTS Has Exceeded Expectations

No one knew how long the DWTS train would run, but it has kept rolling. Viewers tune in every week to see their favorite celebrities, athletes, and reality stars, voting their hearts out. Season 34 was a massive success, and it could have stopped there, especially with the scrutiny surrounding Season 35. Fans were leery about the casting, given that Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Dewan had professional dance experience. Julia Stiles even starred in Save the Last Dance, which gave the illusion that she was a trained dancer when she actually had a body double.

Despite all of that, this season has exceeded all expectations, meaning that the network will likely have to pay up for Season 36. It takes a lot of work for the show to go off without a hitch every week, from production to cast to the troupe to celebrities to wardrobe and more. Moreover, they all work crazy long hours and essentially give up their lives while being on DWTS. Harry Shum Jr. works on Grey’s Anatomy while practicing in between takes. The same goes for Jenna Dewan, who stars on The Rookie. After all is said and done, an insider shared this:

“It takes a small army to get the show up and running each week without feeling repetitive or boring … and famous faces on the show are going to need to be rewarded for their work. Last season’s success could have easily been dismissed by Disney as a fluke, but the DWTS team is actually managing to top those efforts this year.”

It was noted that these negotiations can cause some stars to exit, meaning the pros might walk away. They know their worth and what they bring to the table; viewers tune in for the intense choreography.

Stay Together

At the end of the day, the best way to get results is for the DWTS tribe to band together, although it could be a struggle. From top to bottom, if they want the money that they deserve, this is their best option, per the insider:

“The key is for the whole production team, and especially the on-camera talent, to stick together and stick to their guns in a united front, which is a lot easier said than done!”

No one should be left out or behind, which could happen, but not if they hold firm. Would you like to see all of the DWTS pros, judges, and hosts return for the next season? Finally, do you believe they should get a pay hike? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
