Former ‘The View’ Host Calls Out Show For Ruining Lives

Hosting The View is a huge career accomplishment. However, multiple former co-hosts have spoken out after their exit about the terrible experience. Jenny McCarthy has publicly vowed never to return after backstage drama. Now, another former co-host called out the daytime talk show as “dangerous” and claimed that it ruined lives.

Joy Behar Addresses The View Emmy Snub

The View is currently in its 30th season. However, the long-running talk show has only won one Emmy in 30 seasons. The show was nominated for Best Talk Series and Outstanding Talk Series Host at the 2026 Emmy Awards. However, both awards went to canceled daytime talk shows – The Kelly Clarkson Show nabbed Best Talk Series, and Sherri Shepherd won Outstanding Talk Series Host despite Sherri getting canceled.

Joy Behar addressed the constant Emmy snubs on the show’s Behind The Table podcast. “I’ve been here 30 years. I’ve only won one Emmy, okay? They do not like to vote for multiple hosts,” she said. The show’s executive producer, Brian Teta, pointed out that The Talk, which had multiple hosts, won multiple Emmys when it was on the air.

“So you have Trumpers out there who don’t like us because we have a mostly Democratic panel. I admit that,” Joy Behar said. “Even the Republicans [on the show] can’t stand Trump, so that’s a problem when there’s a voter who’s a Trumper.”

One former co-host definitely doesn’t like her old co-workers.

Former Co-Host Calls Out Show For Ruining Lives

The View is only a few months into its milestone season and has already brought back several former co-hosts to celebrate. Viewers are still waiting for Rosie O’Donnell’s possible return. Michelle Collins previously addressed being snubbed by the show.

Now, she spoke out again with shocking allegations. The comedian is one of several more forgettable hosts who only lasted one season. “It’s a minefield,” Michelle Collins said of The View on Trixie Mattel’s podcast. “It’s a show that’s genuinely begging people to ruin your lives,” she added.

The former co-host continued, “I have so much respect for every host who’s ever been on that show, because no matter who you are, it’s a dangerous show to be on.” Michelle Collins said she had “no business” talking about politics on the ABC show.

Despite her negative experience, she still spoke kindly of her time on The View. “It’s sort of genius now that I’m looking at it from the outside in, it’s kind of incredible. I had no business being there to begin with. I’m glad I was.”

What do you think of so many former hosts speaking out against the show? Tell us in the comments.
