The Rest is Football is a sports podcast hosted by Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, and Micah Richards, and produced by Goalhanger Podcasts. Even before landing on Netflix, it was already one of the world’s most popular football podcasts and one of the most-streamed on both YouTube (8 million monthly viewers) and other audio platforms (over 7 million monthly downloads).
The success of the series is largely due to the on-screen chemistry between FA Cup winner Gary Lineker, Premier League winner Alan Shearer, and two-time Premier League winner Micah Richards. However, the podcast really hit its stride over the Summer thanks to its coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and became the first podcast on Netflix to enter the top 10 lists.
