Jenny and Dave Marrs are celebrating the completion of one of their most emotional Fixer to Fabulous projects.
“We did it! We completed our 24-hour build for a St Jude kiddo in less than 24 hours!” Jenny announced in a Sunday, August 23, Instagram post. “This is our 5th year being a part of this project led by our friend @jaycobb71 and it was as special and challenging and fun and sweaty and exhausting and amazing as ever.”
Jenny revealed that this year’s build was for an “inspiring, strong, mature, light-shining-bright 17 year-old girl named Faith,” adding, “Her name sums it all up. Her faith is a steadfast anchor despite an unimaginably hard fight and every single person who was a part of this build was impacted by her story. I’m thankful we got to be a part of this and I pray blessings upon blessing for Faith and her family.”
Jenny concluded the caption by sharing her excitement for the project, writing, “I can’t for you all to see this one. It’ll remind you that there is still good in the world and there’s always a reason to Hope.”
The post featured a sweet family photo Jenny and Dave took with their five kids — Nathan, Ben, Sylvie, Charlotte, and Luke — at the newly renovated home. Fans shared Jenny’s excitement over the project, as one person commented, “Congratulations…always a great one and [is] nail biter.”
Another fan added, “Admire that your are able to get the kids to willingly help!!” Someone else shared, “The St. Jude episodes are my favorites. Great cause and always awed by what can be accomplished in 24 hours.” A different person posted, “Love that you guys are doing this every year! Over the years, Jenny and Dave have partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to surprise deserving families fighting childhood cancer with their dream homes. The couple previously teased this year’s St. Jude renovation in an exclusive interview with TV Insider in June.
“We’re doing another one this year, and we’ll be doing that in August. So, it’s August in Tulsa. It’s miserably hot,” Dave quipped. “We do it in 24 hours. Everyone there is just literally working their butts off to get this done as quickly as we possibly can. And so, that’s a really physically tolling and challenging project, but also one where there’s such a great reward, So, it’s definitely worth all that suffering to get such a great reward at the end.”
The St. Jude project is one of several exciting renovations fans will see on Fixer to Fabulous Season 8. “We’re doing an airplane hangar [for my brother] this year,” Dave shared. “We’re doing a coffee shop, where we actually have, it’s in a creek bed, almost.” Jenny added, “This one has been two years in the making. We actually started — and I think they’ll show that in the episode — but we started the project two years ago.”
