As promised, we’re going frame-by-frame. The first official teaser trailer for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth has finally hit the web, and we’ve been provided with a gorgeous gallery of high-resolution IMAX stills to obsess over until the movie hits theaters this November.
Whenever director David Fincher teams up with his Academy Award-winning cinematographer Erik Messerschmidt (Mank, Mindhunter, The Killer), you know you are in for a visual treat. But passing Quentin Tarantino’s sun-drenched 1960s Hollywood through Fincher’s meticulous, shadowy, and notoriously gritty lens has resulted in a 1977 Los Angeles that looks incredibly dangerous—and undeniably cool.
We’ve combed through the new footage to bring you the best IMAX stills from the trailer, which is a mix of footage we saw back during the Super Bowl trailer and lots, lots more. From late-night dirt track racing and neon-lit diners to some intense, muddy bar brawls, here is a closer look at what to expect from the highly anticipated sequel.
Frame-by-Frame: Breaking Down the Stills
The new batch of images gives us some fantastic looks at the film’s massive ensemble cast and the seedy underbelly of late-70s Hollywood.
- Brad Pitt is back: Cliff Booth looks like he hasn’t missed a beat. Whether he’s icing his knees with bags of frozen garden peas, speeding down Hollywood Blvd in a muscle car, or casually chatting in a Hawaiian shirt, Pitt exudes that same effortless stuntman swagger that won him an Oscar in 2020.
- The Ensemble Shines: We get additional glimpses of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II looking effortlessly slick in a rust-colored suit and aviators, alongside quick shots of Peter Weller and a blonde Elizabeth Debicki looking sharp in an office setting.
- Action & Mayhem: It wouldn’t be a movie about Cliff Booth without some violence. The stills tease everything from a wild mud-wrestling match in a crowded dive bar to Cliff casually handling a shotgun. There are also ominous shots of shadowy figures creeping up staircases with a hammer and a machete.
- Classic Fincher Vibe: The color palette is distinctly Fincher. Lots of sickly yellows, deep shadows, and neon signs piercing through the dark. We also see great period-accurate details, from vintage film projectors and old cinema marquees to the iconic glowing Astrobürger sign.
As a reminder, The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth (which originally went under the working title The Adventures of Cliff Booth) will hit limited IMAX theaters on November 25th, 2026, before streaming globally on Netflix on December 23rd, 2026.
