Ready to head back to the tent? Here is everything we know about The Great British Baking Show Collection 14, now confirmed to be coming to Netflix US beginning in late September 2026, including a release schedule update (albeit not fully finalized), details on the major judge shakeup, and the brand-new format twist.
Since 2018, Netflix has been the exclusive streaming home for new seasons of the beloved baking competition in the United States and that continues in 2026 as we predicted a little earlier in the year.
Here’s everything you need to know about The Great British Baking Show Collection 14.
When is Collection 14 Coming to Netflix US?
Let’s start with the most important ingredient: the new season will indeed be returning to Netflix US, and fans won’t have to dodge spoilers for long! Just like in previous years, the streaming giant will continue its tradition of a weekly release schedule.
While an exact premiere date hasn’t been set in stone just yet, bosses have confirmed the show will return to the UK’s Channel 4 in September. Historically, Netflix drops new episodes on Fridays, just days after their initial UK broadcast. With that in mind, you can expect the weekly episodes of Collection 14 to start rolling out on Netflix US from September onwards (expected later in the month). We’ll update this post as soon as Netflix provides the exact date!
(Note: As always, these new episodes are exclusive to Netflix US. Other regions will have different broadcasting rights)
Saying Goodbye to a Baking Legend—and Hello to Nigella!
When Collection 14 finally arrives, there will be one noticeable absence at the gingham altar. Earlier this year, Prue Leith announced her decision to step down as a judge after nine seasons and over 400 challenges. The culinary icon, who replaced Mary Berry back in 2017, left some big, brightly-colored statement necklaces to fill.
Why the departure? “I’m 86 for goodness’ sake!” she quipped earlier this year, adding that she plans to spend her summers enjoying her garden. She also noted that she was feeling a bit unsteady on her feet during the outdoor shoots, fearing a humiliating tumble in the uneven fields surrounding the famous tent.
But don’t worry, the producers have brought in baking royalty to take her place. Nigella Lawson is officially joining the team! Channel 4 recently released the first-look image of the new lineup as filming wrapped over the summer. Viewers can expect Nigella to bring her trademark warmth, wit, and passion for flavor to the judging table alongside Paul Hollywood.
In fact, the first teaser trailers have already dropped. One features returning host Alison Hammond joyfully singing the theme tune to the camera before declaring, “The Bake Is Back!” A second trailer gives us our first glimpse of Nigella in action, tucking into a sweet treat and uttering a signature, “Oh, luscious.” Returning co-host Noel Fielding will also be back to guide the bakers through the thrills, spills, and showstoppers.
To make up for the heartbreak of Prue’s departure, Collection 14 is bringing a massive first to the franchise. Before she left, Prue and Paul Hollywood confirmed a new format change for 2026: “Audience Choice Week.”
For the very first time in the show’s history, viewers were put in control of what the bakers had to conjure up. Fans submitted their ideas online to choose the Signature, Technical, and Showstopper challenges for one specific week in the tent.
More Festive Specials On The Way
If a new weekly season wasn’t enough, Netflix is also expected to pick up more holiday specials later in the year. As standard practice, Netflix US receives the Christmas and New Year episodes from the year prior. Based on prior additions, we can expect the 2025 UK holiday specials to land on Netflix US in November or early December 2026.
Those upcoming specials will feature stars from Peep Show creating biscuit decorations for The Great Christmas Bake Off, as well as a lineup of legendary returning bakers bringing in the new year with fabulous festive baking.
Between the mystery of a brand-new judge, fan-curated bakes, and the confirmed weekly Netflix drops, Collection 14 is shaping up to be a true showstopper.
