The Bachelor star Grant Ellis has begged critics to “be nice” about his singing talents.
Ever since Grant performed an original song on the piano for Alexe Godin during a one-on-one date and an original rap in front of singer Mario during a group date, people have been criticizing and poking fun at The Bachelor star’s musical abilities on social media.

Grant therefore took to TikTok on Tuesday, February 4 and posted a video pleading for mercy.
“When they ask about my singing,” Grant, 31, wrote over footage of himself lip-syncing over the viral audio, “Like, ‘Oh, let’s make fun of the girl who took a risk and put herself out there creatively.'”
The clip concluded with Grant playfully covering his face in shame and cowering away from the camera.
“Be nice yall,” the 31-year-old daytrader and former pro basketball player captioned his post.
Comments poured in from fans and there was a mix of love and hate.
“We forgive you Grant,” one person quipped.
“I LIKED IT,” argued a different TiKTok user, “unpopular opinion I guess.”
On The Bachelor’s Monday, February 3 episode, Grant shut down a mall, the Beverly Center, for Alexe, and at one point, he sat next to her at a piano and serenaded her with a song he had come up with on the spot.
Lyrics of Grant’s song included, “I know I need you, I breathe you. I will never let you go.”
Alexe seemed to think the gesture was sweet, but during a recent appearance on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, she admitted that the uber-intimate moment was actually a bit cringeworthy for her.
“I was like, ‘I’m not used to this!'” Alexe said with tension in her voice.

The podcast’s co-host Joe Amabile said being sung to can be “a difficult position to be in,” and co-host Serena Pitt added how “being serenaded to is intense.”
Alexe agreed and noted, “It was the first one-on-one, guys! And when you don’t know the person!”
Alexe suggested she probably would’ve been more receptive to Grant’s romantic song had the pair been allowed more time to get to know each other.
“It’s different if it would’ve been the end of the season and I know him, but it was kind of like, ‘Hi Grant, I’m Alexe. Okay, let’s sing to each other!'” Alexe quipped.
However, Alexe ended up accepting a rose from Grant, and she told The Bachelor cameras that it was the best date she had ever gone on.
Grant subsequently performed a rap during a group date in attempt to put his bachelorettes at ease before they were about to sing original songs of their own and dance for a live audience.
Before Episode 2 of The Bachelor’s 29th season aired, Grant told Parade that there was definitely going to be a musical element to his The Bachelor season.
“Music’s a big part of my life. I don’t take it too seriously, but it allows me to process and express what I feel,” Grant explained.
“I like to dance. I like music.”

Grant elaborated, “I really like that aspect of myself, and I think that it will be fun [for viewers]. Hopefully it’s not too embarrassing.”
