Jordan, 33, and JoJo, 31, got married at Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez, CA, on Saturday, May 14, but the NFL football quarterback for the Green Bay Packers opted out of participating in the celebration, Us Weeklyreported.

“There is still a family rift,” a source told Us, noting that the brothers haven’t “reconciled” or “repaired their relationship.”

Aaron’s years-long estrangement from Jordan and the rest of his family was an ongoing storyline that played out on JoJo’s The Bachelorette edition, which aired its finale in August 2016 and featured Jordan and JoJo getting engaged.

“It’s a sad situation for the family and especially for Jordan who really does love his brother,” the source continued.

“Aaron missed out on his big day and that’s something Jordan’s never going to forget. Jordan invited his entire family, including Aaron, even knowing he most likely wouldn’t attend since they’ve been distant for a long time now.”

The men’s father Ed Rodgers recently told USA Today, however, that “things are progressing” in their relationship and he’s “proud” of Aaron and trusting in the athlete’s recent decisions.

When The Bachelorette’s twelfth season aired in 2016, Jordan briefly talked about his estrangement from Aaron on-camera.

“I have a great relationship with my brother Luke. Me and Aaron really don’t have that much of a relationship. It’s just kind of the way he’s chosen to do life,” Jordan said at the time.

“I love [Aaron] and I can’t imagine what it’s like to be in his shoes and have the pressure he has and the demands he has. [I] don’t have hard feelings against him, it’s just how things go right now.”

Shortly afterwards, Aaron declared in an interview with WISN 12 in July 2016 it was “a little inappropriate” for Jordan to have spoken “publicly about some family matters.”

After Jordan and JoJo got engaged on the 2016 finale, Jordan told The Hollywood Reporter that he hoped the NFL player would be in attendance.

“There’s no scenario in which I wouldn’t want my entire family at a wedding,” Jordan shared that year.

“That’s what our whole family wants and hopes for and, at some point, it’s going to be a good wedding. There’s going to be a lot of people there.”

Ed subsequently revealed to the New York Times in January 2017 the estrangement is “complicated” and “fame can change things,” which appeared to be a shot at Aaron.

Although it’s unclear what caused Jordan and Aaron’s rift, reports swirled the brothers had a progressively more tense sibling rivalry that resulted in the family choosing sides. It had also been widely reported Aaron’s ex-girlfriend, Olivia Munn, might have contributed to the problem.

The Rodgers family “told [Aaron] they didn’t trust her and thought she wasn’t with him for the right reasons. That made him furious and he ended up choosing Olivia over his family,” an insider previously told Us.

However, Aaron and Olivia split in April 2017 after three years together and his family ties only seemed to loosen further.

In November 2018, Jordan accused Aaron on social media of not checking on or even reaching out to the Rodgers family amid the deadly Camp Fire wildfire in Northern California.

It all started when Aaron attempted to promote awareness of the natural disaster and vowed to donate $1 million to its victims on social media.

“In Northern California, where I was born and raised, the city of Paradise burned to the ground, and many of the residents who got out are now displaced to my hometown of Chico and across the north state,” Aaron explained in a Twitter video at the time.

“I personally reached out to my friends and the mayor of Chico to find out how to be of the most help. And raising money for both immediate needs and the long-term recovery is what is needed most right now.”

Aaron’s call for help seemed pretty selfless, but the gesture obviously did not impress Jordan, who retweeted Aaron’s post and wrote the following: “PLEASE DONATE, SPREAD AWARENESS & SEND LOVE. But when your own Mom is home alone during the fires, car packed ready to evacuate, & you miss the fundamental first step of compassion; calling your parents to make sure they are safe… Everything else just feels like an act.”

Aaron and Jordan’s oldest brother, Luke, also shared his opinion on the situation.

Not only did Luke retweet Jordan’s message, but he also tweeted along with it, “Smells like cowardice this morning…”

The Bachelorette’s nineteenth season is scheduled to premiere Monday, July 11 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
