The Bachelorette alum Tayshia Adams has updated fans on her love life and revealed how she’d like to do her next relationship differently.

Tayshia got engaged to Zac Clark on The Bachelorette’s sixteenth season, which aired its finale in December 2020, but they announced their breakup nearly one year later in November 2021.

“I am currently single,” Tayshia confirmed to Us Weekly.

“I’m enjoying my life. My biggest priority, truthfully — I’ve said it before, but I know people don’t believe me — is really just working on me.”

Tayshia went on to address recent dating speculation. This past summer, fans thought she was romantically involved with a chef named Dorian.

“[People] really want me to be in a couple relationships. At one point I think I had five boyfriends, and I didn’t even know their names,” Tayshia joked. “It’s very fun playing with people on TikTok.”

“[But I’m] just kind of finding my own [way] in New York City,” she reiterated.

Rumors also swirled about Tayshia and Southern Charm star Austen Kroll after the pair met on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in October 2021.

While Austen joked earlier this month he and Tayshia are “in love,” Tayshia insisted they’re just friends.

“We were on the [talk] show together. That’s when I met him and I had never seen Southern Charm, actually, previously,” Tayshia explained. “And we have a couple of mutual friends here in the city, and every time he is here, I happen to run into the man. But he’s awesome.”

Tayshia clarified, however, “I can’t say that we’re fully in love like he has claimed, but, you know, love you, Austen.”

Over the last year, Tayshia suggested she’s simply had priorities other than looking for love.

“[I’ve been] focusing on the things that really make me happy, which are my philanthropy efforts and I really love the fashion industry as well, [and] fitness and my mental health. So that’s been my main priority,” Tayshia said.

Back in June, Tayshia admitted she was done appearing on reality dating shows and dating men in Bachelor Nation.

“I think I’m good, respectfully,” Tayshia told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “Respectfully, I think I’m good. I think I’m good.”

But Tayshia is apparently keeping an open mind about potentially dating another reality TV star, in general.

“Never say never,” Tayshia told Us. “We’ll see what happens! We’ll just leave it there. Never say never.”

But Tayshia acknowledged it’s very difficult to navigate a relationship with someone in the public eye.

When she really does have a man in her life, Tayshia sad she really wants “to protect” that romance.

“I kind of, maybe, [want to] keep it quiet and under wraps for a minute and then maybe let the people in on the news after a little while,” Tayshia shared. “People are private investigators. I don’t even know how they figure out half the things they do now.”

Tayshia said she understands her love life “is exciting” to fans, who have followed her ever since she appeared on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor in 2019, but she’d like “to have a normal relationship, to some extent” in the future.

After starring on the second half of The Bachelorette 16 in 2020, Tayshia co-hosted The Bachelorette’s 17th and 18th seasons alongside Kaitlyn Bristowe.

Although Tayshia has been busy in her professional life, she wrote on Instagram back in May how she’d still like to get married and start a family “more than anything.”

“[I’m] waiting to be in a healthy supportive relationship while simultaneously being a successful woman; a cohesive unit, not one or the other,” Tayshia wrote in an Instagram comment, slamming a troll.

“I want to build an empire, I want to go after my dreams and I want my partner to be supportive of that as they follow their own dreams as well. I want a relationship where we cheer each other on. None of that has changed.”

In late March, Tayshia informed Us that she had no desire to date and would maybe be interested in doing so a year from that point. She also said she doesn’t like dating apps and hadn’t looked through her DMs from men on Instagram.

But Tayshia said she eventually wants to settle down with a man who is “strong, supportive, kind, ambitious, and empathetic.”

For Zac’s part, a source told Us in late February that he’s also doing “fine” after his split from Tayshia and they’ve both been trying to move on with their lives.

“He gets excited about the idea of dating again but has trust issues from being in the spotlight,” a source told the magazine at the time.

“His biggest fear is getting close to someone, breaking up, and then that girl sharing with the world about their relationship.”

Tayshia and Zac haven’t revealed any details about their split, but Us reported in late 2021 that the former couple “couldn’t fully commit to each other” due to their busy schedules and they “eventually realized it wasn’t going to work and their relationship ran its course.”

When Tayshia brought up her breakup on The Men Tell All for Michelle Young’s The Bachelorette season last year, she called the time “really tough” and “very heavy” for her. She said she was “heartbroken” and still very much in love with Zac.

Following their televised engagement in late 2020, Tayshia decided to move to New York City to be with her man, but she also kept her own place in California.

In a February 2021 interview with Marie Claire, the previously-divorced The Bachelorette star revealed she had decided to keep her own place “for peace of mind” since this is “not [her] first rodeo.”
