The Bachelorette bachelor Jordan Vandergriff has revealed if he also felt there was something “missing” in his connection with Rachel Recchia during their one-on-one date.

On The Bachelorette’s latest episode, Rachel enjoyed a “spectacular” Zero-Gravity flight experience with Jordan V., but she acknowledged something was “missing” for her during the dinner portion of their date.

Rachel said while she really wanted to like the 27-year-old drag racer from Alpharetta, GA, she didn’t think their relationship could “get there” and eventually become an engagement.

During a recent appearance on the “Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation” podcast hosted by The Bachelorette alums Bryan Abasolo and Mike Johnson, Jordan was asked if he saw any warning signs or felt in his gut that his connection with Rachel was lacking.

“I think it went great, honestly, the whole day — from the beginning of the day when she picked me up in the [classic car], it was great, and the conversation was flowing,” Jordan explained.

Jordan apparently didn’t think that he did anything wrong on the date.

“We were having a great time getting to know each other, and I think, you know, we had a lot in common. We had a lot to talk about right from the start, and we would dive into those topics, like flying a plane and driving the race car,” Jordan said.

Jordan joked about how Rachel was “loving” their “carburetor talk.”

“We were getting to know each other, and we had common interests and similarities. So, I think, you know, we got past that and we started to see if there was a love connection, and I definitely felt like there was something,” Jordan shared.

“I feel like she felt something too, but, you know, at the end of the day, it wasn’t enough. And maybe she had already started some connections with other guys.”

Jordan pointed out how Rachel appeared to bond with Logan Palmer the night before.

“So I think at the end of the day, it just wasn’t enough for her, and that’s okay. Hopefully she finds what she’s looking for,” Jordan said.

Bryan and Mike playfully asked Jordan if he has “no game” since he’s a very attractive guy with a cool job but got eliminated on his first date with Rachel..

“I always thought I at least had a little bit,” Jordan said with a laugh.

“I think at the end of the day, she just didn’t feel the connection that she was looking for, and that’s okay. There’s somebody out there for everybody. It just turns out that I wasn’t her person.”

Justin also confirmed viewers saw the highlights of their date and so they weren’t missing anything that could help to make more sense of the situation.

“I think building a relationship is about friendship first and so a lot of our conversations were cordial, and we were having a great conversation,” Jordan said.

“We were joking around and she was laughing… At the end of the day, we’re looking for a love connection and she’s looking for a husband, and our connection just wasn’t quite measuring up to what she was looking for.”

Jordan ultimately believes Rachel was “right in that decision” to send him packing.

“She’s got to do what’s best for her. It’s her journey. I was just lucky to play a little part in it,” Jordan noted, adding, “Hopefully she does find her person.”

Jordan has admittedly thought about what might’ve happened if Rachel had decided to keep him around longer, but he said Rachel would’ve been doing him a disservice to drag him through the process.

“Do I think maybe that if I stuck around a little longer could we have built on the connection that we already had? Possibly. But when you know, you know, and I think she knew in that moment during that night,” Jordan said.

Jordan therefore insisted he respects Rachel “for just being honest with herself” and for also being “honest with me and telling it like it is.”

“So I really respect her decision,” Jordan noted, adding, “It didn’t work out and it is what it is.”

Although Jordan’s journey on The Bachelorette’s nineteenth season was cut short, he said it was “a great honor” to accompany the flight instructor on her first one-on-one date.

“Not in my wildest dreams did I think I was going to get the first one-on-one,” he noted.

Going back to Night 1 of the process, Jordan may have lost points with Rachel when he didn’t make a move on her.

Jordan admitted to Mike and Bryan that he never even thought about kissing Rachel that first evening at The Bachelor mansion.

“Honestly, it wasn’t [a thought]. Honestly, I didn’t even think about it,” Jordan said.

“I wasn’t going into the first night thinking, ‘I’m going to kiss her.’ I wasn’t thinking that. I was just focusing on the connection. I wanted to have a conversation. My goal was to get a conversation and just let her know that I was there and get to show her a little side of me.”

Jordan therefore said it was a shock hearing that Rachel had wanted him to kiss her on The Bachelorette premiere. He acknowledged how he “should have” kissed her, “looking back on it.”

“I think I made a good first impression — just not good enough for the first rose,” he reasoned.

The Bachelorette airs its next episode Monday night at 8PM ET/PT on ABC, and the season also stars Gabby Windey on her own journey to find love.
