Netflix ushered in the holiday season with Falling for Christmas, which also marked Lindsay Lohan’s triumphant comeback to television.

The holiday film finds the Mean Girls alum as Sierra Belmont, a newly engaged heiress who has a skiing accident in the days leading up to Christmas and suffers amnesia. With nowhere to go, she’s taken in by Jake (Chord Overstreet), the handsome owner of a family-run ski lodge, along with his daughter and mother-in-law. As Sierra tries to remember her own identity, she finds herself thriving in her new life, and, well, let’s just say, feelings definitely blossom. This is a holiday rom-com after all!

One of the highlights of the film, aside from Lohan singing a new rendition of “Jingle Bell Rock,” is the beautiful and picturesque scenery, which led many viewers to wonder where Falling for Christmas was filmed.

The film spans several locations in a ski village, including a lavish ski resort, a quaint lodge, and a Christmas market, all of which are located in Utah.

One of the main locations in the film is the Belmont Summit Resort, the chic luxury hotel owned by Sierra’s father. If you want to have your own holiday movie moment, you’ll want to check out the hotel under its real name, Goldener Hirsch, part of the Auberge Resorts Collection, located in Deer Valley of Park City, Utah.

The North Star, Jake’s resort, is actually Stein Eriksen Lodge, which is also located in Deer Valley. Note—it’s a lot more extravagant than the hotel that’s portrayed on screen, however.

Other scenes in the film, including Tad’s (George Young) proposal to Sierra on a mountaintop, were filmed in and around Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah.

So if you were planning a festive vacation filled with holiday magic, Utah needs to be on the top of your list.
