Halloween might have ended a few days ago, with many moving on to the other holidays. However, people will always have spooky stories to share, no matter what time of year it is. Recently, Jenna Bush Hager shared a story on Today that gave one special guest a bit of a fright.
Scarlett Johansson Recently Swapped A Few Stories With Jenna Bush Hager & Sheinelle Jones On Today
Jenna Bush Hager and Scarlett Johansson have worked together in the past. The actress served as a guest co-host on Today’s Fourth Hour during its Jenna & Friends era back in 2025.
Recently, Scarlett appeared on the show’s Fourth Hour, speaking with Jenna and Sheinelle Jones. At the time, she talked about reuniting with Adam Driver for Paper Tiger and a singing role for the animated film, Ray Gunn.

However, during the appearance, Jenna had a share of her own, during her time living in the White House as the president’s daughter. As she noted, “I believe in ghosts. We had ghosts in our house. We had to get a ghost whisperer [to] come and get them out. Oh yeah. In the house I live in, but also in the White House.”
Scarlett seemed spooked by the revelation. As she shared, even throwing her hands up in the air, “Oh my God, is this? Do people know this? You said this publicly? That there was a ghost in the White House when you were living there?” Jenna confidently answered this with a “Yes!”
During The Share, Jenna Claimed That Her Sister Soon Started Hearing Things Herself
Jenna also claimed that she wasn’t the only one with White House ghost stories. She then mentioned her twin sister, sharing, “Barbara was with me. The first time she wasn’t and she didn’t believe me, and then two nights later she was sleeping with me.”
Scarlett soon had follow-up questions, causing Jenna to share, “Somebody scary. No! They were friendly. They didn’t come and harm [us].” Jenna then went on to describe a spirit that took the form of music: “It was like 1920s music that came out of the fireplace.”

Jenna admitted that her sister was initially skeptical. However, she then started hearing music herself. As she recalled, “Two nights later, it was opera. We both heard it. Chills. And, also, we were asleep and were in college — so people called us late, now nobody does — somebody woke me up, and Barbara’s like, ‘Who’s calling? Go back to bed.’ And that’s when we heard it.”
Jenna recalled, “Middle of the night. Out of a fireplace. Like, you could almost feel it.” Scarlett dubbed the whole story “insane.”
