AppleTV+ has decided not to renew Time Bandits beyond its first season. The series, based on the 1981 Terry Gilliam film of the same name, centered around Kevin (played by Kal-El Tuck), an 11-year-old history enthusiast who embarks on a thrilling journey through time and space with a quirky group of thieves. The show featured Lisa Kudrow as Penelope, Charlyne Yi as Judy, and Kiera Thompson as Kevin’s sister, Saffron.
Time Bandits was co-created by Taika Waititi, along with his What We Do in the Shadows collaborator Jemaine Clement and The Inbetweeners’ Iain Morris. Waititi also took on the role of the Supreme Being, while Clement portrayed the villain, Pure Evil.
