Big Brother 28’s Newbies Have the Numbers. So Why Are Three of Them on the Block… Again?

I knew this would happen. First, I complained about Big Brother recycling reality TV players instead of giving us a house full of fresh faces.

Then I watched the new houseguests become so starstruck by the veterans that they seemed more interested in working with them than getting them out.

And now? We are in Week 7, all three veterans are still safe, and three first-time Big Brother players are sitting on the block. Meanwhile, all three veterans are sitting pretty.

How in the world have Dee Valladares, Rick Devens, and Angela Murray all made it this far?

Six houseguests have been evicted, and every single one was a first-time Big Brother player.

This week makes it even more ridiculous. Drew, Taylor, and Mallory are the final nominees heading into eviction night. Three nominees. Three newbies.

And yes, Angela still being there irritates me. I could not stand her the first time around. She was obnoxious then, and I did not think she deserved another shot at Big Brother.

Watching as a house full of newbies helps keep her around makes it even worse. The most frustrating part is that none of this had to happen.

Big Brother is a numbers game.

These houseguests say it themselves constantly. There is safety in numbers. Well, they have the numbers. Eight first-time players are still in the house compared to three veterans.

There is still time to do something about this. If the newbies stop picking each other off and start looking at the bigger picture, they can change the direction of this game.

Instead of recognizing the obvious threats and using their numbers to their advantage, the newbies have spent week after week helping send each other home. Make it make sense.

Dee already won Survivor 45 and took home a million dollars. Now these people are seriously going to sit around and possibly help her win another $750,000?

And listen, I am not blaming Dee. If people want to hand you more money, take it. She’s playing the game in front of her. So are Devens and Angela.

The veterans are united. They are openly strategizing and fighting to stay in that house. My problem is with everybody watching them do it.

How Many Wake-Up Calls Do They Need?

Kamu and Yash finally took a shot at the veterans last week. Dee and Angela were on the block, and there was finally an opportunity to break up this group.

Then Devens saved Dee, Angela saved herself, and the house turned around and voted Kamu out.

That should have been the wake-up call. Was it? Of course not! Instead, Dee turned around and won HOH.

She originally put Drew, LaTrice, and Taylor on the block. LaTrice won the veto and took herself down, and Dee replaced her with Mallory.

So, after all that, we are heading into another eviction with Drew, Taylor, and Mallory on the block, while Dee, Devens, and Angela are all safe.

Once again, the newbies are fighting among themselves while the veterans live to see another week.

Where is the urgency?

You don’t win Big Brother because a veteran likes you, and you don’t get extra money for helping somebody else make it to the end.

You win by recognizing threats, building numbers, and making a move before it is too late.

That is what has made this season so frustrating to watch. These players keep talking about numbers while refusing to use their biggest advantage.

The good news is that the game is not over. Eight to three is still eight to three.

There is still time for the newbies to wake up, stop lounging around like they’re on vacation, start targeting each other, and use those numbers.

Because if Dee, Devens, and Angela keep surviving week after week, the newbies will eventually run out of people to sacrifice.
